A little disappointed Ravnica will not be revisited in the next block, but will be eventually. Anyone else remotely interested in seeing Hellbent come back?

Bloodgift Demon as #1 sleeper, Sturmgeist as #2. I'd use either as a control win condition, although I prefer the Demon. A 5/4 flying beater for 5 that helps replenish your hand seems good to me.

What I really, really don't understand is why you or anyone should get angry if someone makes what you perceive as an ignorant or misguided statement. It shows some sort of mental mistake on your part, either excessive seriousness, excessive sensitivity, or excessive pride\competitiveness.

Step back from the computer for a couple hours. When you come back you may be able to see posts you don't agree with and just ignore them, instead of getting angry at not only the poster, but the whole forums.

And yes, I agree that anyone who says Snapcaster isn't a great card is wrong. Doesn't mean they need to be insulted by being called scrubs. Perhaps they are a newer player and\or have not explored any of the archetypes which benefit from snapcaster mage yet.

Just... calm down. Getting so worked up over forum posts you disagree with is not healthy\normal, nor productive in any way.

I agree completely. I've come back from a five year break, it's sad to see people are still the same way. People tend to take it personally when others post an opinion/comment that contradicts what they said. They read it as, "Your comment sucks, you know nothing about this game" instead of seeing it as an opinion.

As for SCM and its hype, rarely do cards live up to their early hype. It's more common for an overlooked card, maybe something like Sturmgeist, to excel. As to Think Twice and Visions, not exactly sure why you couldn't run both. Run only 2x Think Twice, better in late game anyways. (My opinion, inb4 "Your comment sucks, you know nothing about this game").

It's been broken on and off all day. I've completed maybe 8 drafts and had another 8 or so break in the middle. Aggravating but it'll get fixed.

I've done several drafts, two of my decks were ridiculous. One was W/U with 11 fliers, Sturmgeist, 4 Think Twice, and 2 Invisible Stalkers, with a Dagger and Axe equipment. My other was W/R with 3 Avacynian Priest, 8 fliers, 2 Brimstone Volley, Devil's Play and a Balefire Dragon.

White is just sick from what I can tell. Obviously this draft sim may not be accurate but it still gives a decent idea of what to expect.

Oh, and I'll never understand the point of saying, "I'm going to skip this set." People seem to think it's important for others to know whether you plan to play the next set or not. Either play it or don't. It's like the people who would post on the World of Warcraft forums, "I'm quitting, the game is boring and stupid now, blah blah blah." How about just.....quitting. Nobody is going to read your comment and say, "Damn! I thought this game/set was fun, but <enter random person> is not playing! I need to re-evaluate!"

As a Magic player and investor, you have a right to be happy/unhappy. Just realize nobody cares nearly as much as you do.

I agree, but as it stands now, the set is pretty much trash. SoM block is faster imo. TS will still do well. Pod will do well(despite a few hurdles).

Who knows, the next block could be slow(er) again, making more of INN constructed viable. I would love to use the zombie cards in this set(rooftop storm and the cathedral art one especially)

Unless the next two sets in this block are better, or at least offer more to work with, the next year of standard may as well be SOM block constructed(oh, and m12)

Yeah, there are a couple good cards in there like, snapcaster and the stone, but the rest is pretty meh. /rant

In my opinion, the bellyaching is childish. Either accept the set as is and enjoy it as is, or get a different hobby. As of right now, you have absolutely $0 invested in Innistrad. Anything you purchase from here on out is on you. If you don't like the set, skip it. If you're going to play it, shut up.

Of course bellyaching has gone on with every set since Mirage, so I shouldn't be surprised.

I started with Invasion block, although I had played casually with friends at Unlimited and Mirage. The only block I didn't care for was the Mirrodin block, and only because I personally thought Affinity was the dumbest broken thing ever. It took for the fun of the set away for me. Also, artifacts are my least favorite.

In short, everyone has favorite sets and some sets they don't like, even at first glance. I personally think Inn looks fantastic; gothic horror into Magic is awesome and flavorful. Cards look good. DFC will be better than some people give credit too. People just tend to blow things out of proportion for lack of anything better to do.

Wait for the set to come about before forming an opinion.

That's just ridiculous. What about the non-colluding players that don't take a DFC? What about the ones that take a mediocre DFC out of a bad pack then switch to what's flowing? What about the player who passes a Garruk - did they also open a Liliana, or a foil Snapcaster, or a random bomb? Are you really willing to sacrifice your own draft based on a small amount of information and a guess?

^ This. Those of us who have done many many booster drafts know that your first pick in your first pack doesn't mean you're definitely drafting that color. If I draft a Garruk and the people to my immediate right decide to shaft me on that color, you leave the other four colors for me to choose from. The vast number of drafts will have no hiccups at all and this won't be an issue. Draft -your- deck and don't worry about the others.

I love how many people think if a card doesn't have evasion it's a bad card for any format. Like people have said, he'll be at least a 5/5 most of the time, and if he happens to only be a 3/3 then he swings for 3 every turn. Not to mention there are some good auras/equipments in the set that sit nicely with him.

I also see it as sort of an anti-Werewolf card mid- to late-game. If you have 3 transformed Werewolves, I have a 6/6 that can at a minimum probably trade with your fatty, or if I have other critters, chump block your biggest, kill your second biggest, and go from there.

amazing, but the 5 cost for a 3/3 vigilance and 2 1/1 fliers seems a bit high.

3/3 at a minimum, if you have other critters she is bigger. There are auras/equipment that can be given to her to help with the lack of evasion. Put her in a token deck and have fun.

The equipment in this set (Pitchfork, Shovel, etc) make me want to make a M:tG Clue game:

"Was it Liliana in the Woodland Cemetary with the Sharpened Pitchfork?"

    "No."

    "Dammit."

You know, I can already see it: some goofball naming their Werewolf Deck "Team Jacob", and another dork calling their vampire deck "Team Edward". I would then commence to punching face.

Hello folks, I quit Magic several years ago, right after Time Spiral came out. I only had time for one addiction: World of Warcraft. However, I am done with it and getting back into Magic. I've been perusing the forums, familiarizing myself with the recent sets. Looks like I missed a lot lol two broken Jace cards, one of my favorites reprinting as a Planeswalker (Nicol Bolas), and easily the coolest idea in a set in a LONG time, Innistrad. Bring on the zombies, vampires, and werewolves!

For some of you that have been here a LONG time, I used to trade a lot. I was also a moderator under the name GoodOleMaraxus. I recognize a few people but not many.

    Good to be back.
