- Flickerform - What does this card do for the deck other than dodge a black sun's zenith and some random "naturalize-style" effects? Sigarda's biggest concern is board wipes and this pretty much dodges a total of one of them that is commonly seen in EDH. As for enchantment destruction effects, flickerform will never dodge a krosan grip and will dodge an opposing aura shards once in most cases. This just comes off as mediocre in the face of (most likely) 3 other opponents. The card honestly feels way too niche and the slot seems better used by something like shielded by faith or any aura granting a "totem armor" effect.
Flickerform brings the creature back at the end of the turn, so it actually dodges literally every board wipe commonly seen in EDH. The only way to beat if is to stack another wipe on top of the effect at instant speed and even then if the Fickerform user has 4 mana open, they can just respond again. Yes, the form dies to Krosan Grip, but that's like saying Jace, the Mindsculpter is bad because he dies to Hero's Downfall.
In addition to dodging wraths, Flickerform can also be used in conjunction with Eidolon of Blossoms to draw an additional card(s) per turn. Just keep four mana up and activate it just prior to an opponent's end step.
Problem is, I have no idea what I should cut. Could I get some suggestions, please?
I think you could stand to cut either Oblation or Unexpectedly Absent since Norn will potentially be serving as removal and the new anti-tuck rules make these cards less essential IMO, especially with access to black.
I would also consider cutting Darksteel Ingot for Chromatic Lantern in a tri-colored deck unless artifact hate is very prevalent in your meta.
I wanted to echo the previous comments about the value of Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. It has a weaker Gaea's Cradle type of effect, but can be played in any deck, not just those running green. Also, devotion is a unique mechanic and likely won't be reprinted unless they release a "From the Vaults: Gods" set or something similar. I think this card is only going up after it rotates out and I'm stocking up.
@DontYouJIMMYMe: I apologize for my lack of knowledge but when you say T2 do you mean a different part of the forum or something else? And what did you mean about the Leyline of Vitality being illegal? On the wizards website it said it was legal in modern format. What am I missing here because I would like to play this card if possible?
And thanks for the tip on Plaxcaster Frogling! I like that graft concept but I worry that his activated hexproof ability won't be as impactful as Simic Charm or Alpha Authority. I will definitely consider him in the sideboard. And thanks for the warm welcome!
@1classydude: I really like your thinking along the lines of sacrifice abilities and lands to conserve mana while still resetting the undying guys. Thanks for the awesome tips. Power Conduit is certainly an awesome fit here - maybe it and Spawning Pit in place of Ooze Flux? Good synergy although it would require more copies than flux to make it work. Also, along the lines of efficient sacrifice cards, what do you guys think of Blasting Station? Essentially, it looks like free damage with the undying guys constantly reentering the battlefield. I also liked the look of High Market but I am not sure if another colorless mana is a good call and I think the flash from Alchemist's Refuge would be more impactful than the lifegain but I could be totally wrong. Thoughts? Edit: Scratch that, just saw High Market isn't legal in modern.
Based on your suggestions, I am also considering Altar of Dementia and/or Geralf's Mindcrusher for mill in longer games vs. control. Could be good sideboard material but I am not sure.
First time poster here, looking for feedback on a modern budget UG aggro/control deck I have been working on. I do not have these cards yet so I cannot play-test this deck currently. Any experiences and perspectives from people who have or do run a similar setup would be greatly appreciated.
The primary focus of this deck is to use Zameck Guildmage and/or Ooze Flux for counter manipulation to keep undying creatures in play indefinitely, create an endless supply of creature tokens, and draw cards. I have reviewed [[Official]] The Incredible Hulk thread here on MTGsalvation as well as "Simic Hunting Lessons" by Gavin Verhey from Daily MTG. My goal is to synthesize the tempo/aggression of Gavin's deck with the flexibility of IANspired and Stardfox's iteration.
The maindeck as constructed below is ~$25.00 (not counting the sideboard cards):
The only negative I see is that my mana curve is highly disproportionate at the 2 CMC slot (and this is before taking into account that Zameck Guildmage, Vorel of the Hull Clade, Ooze Flux, and Alchemist's Refuge all use two mana to activate their abilities as well). I am hoping that an evolved Gyre Sage or two will be able to augment this but I am not sure. Any suggestions whether to balance this more or keep it as is and why?
I also considered 4x Rancor to push damage through and activate card draw from Bred for the Hunt but I feel that trample is unnecessary here. It would seem that Champion of Lambholt's unblockable team buff combined with Alpha Authority will be enough but I can't tell. Thoughts/opinions on this would be awesome.
Thank you for taking the time to look over my deck and provide feedback!

Note: this only works with Eidolon of Blossoms as it specifies when an enchantment enters the battlefield, but not with cards like Argothian Enchantress or Kor Spiritdancer as these specify when the enchantment is "cast".
Still, it's small utility which sometimes goes overlooked. ETB The Gathering: Enchantment Style.
