Oct 25, 2016Serberus_08 posted a message on The World of Alara Part II: Legends of The Sundered PlaneGreat couple of articles, probably my favourite set lore-wise, because it was the first standard set that I played in. Also three colour pairings allow for a great variety, in story and in gameplay. Thanks for posting this stuff.Posted in: Articles

Are all great with the soldier token themes, Cathars' Crusade is also great.
Kiku, Night's Flower has always intrigued me, but I've never been able to think of a decklist around her.
Yeah Basilisk Collar and Cunning Sparkmage was a thing in the Worldwake standard block was a thing because of deathtouch's ruling. A creature with touch only needs to assign a single point of Damage (combat or non) and the defending creature dies. First Strike and Deathtouch are really strong together as well because first strike hits with touch before regular combat damage takes place. It's great synergy.
Yeah Bant has answers for everything and never really has a glaring weakness. I like Roon of the Hidden Realm is great for ETB value.
I would pick Alesha though, mainly because of sheer fun and value reasons. Very cheap to build and can place great creature-based utility in smaller creatures (you can run an ally sub theme). Also reanimator/graveyard trickery can be fun and rewarding at times, especially with Panharmonicon released recently.
If Not; then maybe include some commander products for Vorthos lore that may have cards from the plane to expand outward with your thinking and deck brewing. Ultimately her ability isn't worth the limitation because her ability is meant for cheating out fatties like Kaalia of the Vast. So the point IS for big threats and manipulated top decks for that optimized performance.
Cards like:
- Ancient Excavation
- Grave Upheaval
- Guttersnipe
- Sphinx-Bone Wand
