Geez guys, I can't believe no one has mentioned this yet. Pssh.
The correct way to build Sisay is to build a deck that features the Storyline Arc for the Invasion block! I think every member of the Weatherlight crew now has physically printed copies that exist, so you should build a Weatherlight Tribal deck. They all conveniently happen to be Legendary creatures too, so that you have synergy with Sisay. You could even include the Legends from the new Weatherlight crew in Dominaria too!
Then, when they finally print Yawgmoth, you can have an awesome Duel between Sisay and Yawgmoth, a way to recreate the final battle of the Invasion block!
That is all.
You even get straight up Weatherlight as an option now. Hell, you can also tutor up Legacy Weapon and Predator, Flagship if you keep wanting to dive into Invasion Block lore.
As far as disruption goes, it sounds weird and counter-intuitive, but I'm going to recommend Wave of Vitriol. That card is no joke. The amount of games people scoop after it resolves is hilarious, and it really does make things a ton easier for a mono green creature based deck. It's a death sentence for Theros Gods too, which is sometimes nice considering how persistent they can be.
Wave of Vitriol is absolutely amazing. I run it in my Rashmi, Eternities Crafter "Oops, All Spells" deck, which has literally three nonbasic lands and zero artifacts/enchantments. I assume it will work similarly in a creature based deck that runs almost entirely on Forests. You lost (almost) zero momentum and hardly anyone ever sees it coming. I also recommend this card.
Izzet Guildmage + Biomancer's Familiar + Manamorphose draws your deck out, if that wants to be part of your game plan. If it didn't draw a card, you'd have the infinite mana you're looking for.
Grave Pact and tokens are the first cards I think of for her. Forbidden Orchard is a particularly interesting option as there will always be a creature around to start the machine gun fun with Massacre Girl.
For your question of "which creatures worth playing", I'd shoot for anything that deals with a "leaves the battlefield trigger". Massacre Wurm is a perfect example. Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat are other good options. Depending on the creatures in your deck, Midnight Reaper could possibly be an option.
I haven't thought much about "wincons" for the deck, as I've been more focused on how to start the massacres and deal with the win later. I assume Mimic Vat will be a good option since you usually hope to clear the board away and may want to kidnap your opponents' large threats.
Well, Proteus Staff is sold out along many online retailers and all my local stores. Pretty sure it's because of this little guy, so be prepared to see him a lot. I literally got the last one on Card Kingdom after there being about 12 earlier in the week, and this was after I hit 4 LGS.
My game store had one left, so I immediately snatched it up after he was spoiled. My problem is that I prefer foils and I could only find an Italian foil on eBay last week. Nowhere else has a foil Staff available.
Not certain how Cloudstone Curio + 2 mana rocks + Paradox Engine is lethal. Curio only triggers off nonartifacts. And Fblthp can’t return himself so... what am I missing?
You're absolutely right; forgot about the nonartifact clause. Back to the drawing board on that one.
Edit: Just had a peek through your list as well. I dig it! Seems like a much more focused approach to the combo. I think if your deck ever gets an activation off you should just win.
Curio is some neat tech, especially with all the effects that put cards from your hand on top of your library.
As Darrenhabib mentioned earlier in the thread, if you've got the money LED might be worth consideration.
Another thing, you want some things you can hit off Staff in case Fblthp gets shuffled and you need to dig him out. I see Vedalken Shackles in your list which will help with this. I would also recommend the man-lands, Mutavault, Faerie Conclave, Blinkmoth Nexus, and Inkmoth Nexus as other ways you can do this.
I like new Jace in there as well, allows for Maniac win with out the creature gumming up the process.
I figured Cloudstone Curio, two mana rocks, and Paradox Engine makes for game over. It's slightly narrow for the deck, but may be fun trying to pull it off.
I like Lion's Eye Diamond, but that's a $200 expense that I don't need at the moment, lol. I already have some of the >$100 cards (like Mana Crypt), so that helps but LED is REAL expensive.
I'm not too worried about Fblthp getting stuck in the deck. I always have the choice to move him to Command Zone if he gets targeted before Staff comes down. I made sure to insert a couple of staff targets/token generators like Tezzeret, Artifice Master, Mirage Mirror, Vedalken Shackles, and Sculpting Steel (if needed). I had Mimic Vat and Trading Post on the list prior to cut downs, but wanted to focus on the combos more directly. I guess a Blinkmoth Nexus/Inkmoth Nexus wouldn't hurt too much.
I also wanted Laboratory Maniac as the only creature in the 99, but realized I still wanted it to be creatureless to be able to reorder the entire deck. New Jace is a good workaround.
Astro_Man - I'll take a look through your list and see if there's anything to trim for cantrips/card draw/etc.
I like the idea for it. Since the only creatures you'll be able to Staff out are the actual, physical creatures in the deck, what do you hope to hit with Staff and March of the Machines on board? Karn, Silver Golem seems like your best bet at the moment. Might I suggest Memnarch and/or Mycosynth Golem as additional payoffs to find with Staff?
The Training Grounds is good, but even with March of the Machines in play only lowers the activation cost of 6 "creatures". A lot of your artifacts/creatures already have activation costs of 1. Heartstone may also be worth adding, but also has that limit down to 1. Myr Turbine is extremely narrow as it only fetches one creature.
I see the Station combo and the Karn/March aggro plan. Any other win cons/combos I'm not seeing? I like the direction (although it seems very similar to Arcum Dagsson decks).
I love my Etali deck (so maybe I'm slightly biased), but if I was going to build a deck with one of those options as a commander and put the other one in the 99, I'd rather have Neheb as the commander.
Card filtering and mana ramp accessible at all times? Sign me up.
My Etali is so focused on additional combat steps and value that I don't know if I could simply switch out for Neheb and have it run similarly. Yeah, Neheb wants additional combat steps as well, but nothing feels as good as flipping an Eldrazi off the top of the deck.
Those options you mentioned for placing him on the top of the deck are in my version so far. They're decent options for getting him "in the library". Maybe it will have to play more like Miracles.
That's kinda what I'm thinking at this point. I mean once you activate Staff you should just win the game. The question is how do set that up, and how do we survive until we can set that up. I think miracles is a good option here. The cards above were all cards I was planning on running anyway, so adding stuff like counterbalance and temporal mastery shouldn't be too difficult. Any other good miracle cards for edh?
Devastation Tide is the other one I tend to play. I'd probably include it but not place it near the top when comboing off.

I'm all for the Invasion Block beats.

They're not wrong.

Glad you found your copy.
God-Eternal Kefnet + Brainstorm is quite hilarious. Keep placing Brainstorm back on top of the deck.
I'd make sure to play with Future Sight (and Magus of the Future) to not have to work too hard.

Speaking of which, since you have Darksteel Forge, Mycosynth Lattice might be a good addition as well. The interaction to look out for is Mycosynth Lattice with March of the Machines, which immediately destroys everybody's lands (which could be a good or a bad thing).
The Training Grounds is good, but even with March of the Machines in play only lowers the activation cost of 6 "creatures". A lot of your artifacts/creatures already have activation costs of 1. For cantrips/card draw effects, the first few ones I go for are Ponder, Thirst for Knowledge, and Compulsive Research. If you're looking for some protection and card draw, it's hard to beat Cryptic Command and Mystic Confluence. Figured I'd suggest them since I didn't see those in the list.
I see the Station combo and the Karn/March aggro plan. Any other win cons/combos I'm not seeing? I like the direction (although it seems very similar to Arcum Dagsson decks).

Of course. Two is a couple, three is company, and four or more is a crowd. A couple of creatures is still fine.
I'm interested to see your value take on it. I got the Fblthp decklist posted up in Decks with him as the only creature. I'm excited to try it out.
That exiles the card first, then casts it from the Exile Zone (won't trigger Fblthp's ability).
Devastation Tide is the other one I tend to play. I'd probably include it but not place it near the top when comboing off.
