I am curious. If you guys could choose to play a version of this with allied fetches and original duals over the sac lands, would you? If so, what might such a list look like? I've been debating upping my ability with decks and storm combo has always been my weak area. I have most of the staples, including force of will, etc. but have never been a fan of playing blue dominated decks. and No, I don't have lions' eye diamond.
with fetches and duals, it would be ad nauseam tendrils
Has anyone else tried running a black splash? Doomwake Giant alone is great to have, and the optiion to side in thoughtseize helps a lot with combo matchups.
Subbing in 2-3 Cadaverous Bloom and a singleton Tendrils of Agony (in addition to emrakul) is fun way to win, though I haven't decided if it's better or worse than just using Rip/Helm.
I added a single Doomwake Giant into my deck tonight and it singlehandedly won me a game (taking out phyrexian revoker and thalia at the same time, and next turn taking out magus of the moon)
Is that what it was? I thought it was weird when they showed the day 2 breakdown and had 10 Burn decks and then the next screen said 12 "Burn (all types)". I was wondering how there were 2 Burn decks that weren't more or less the same shell. I doubt they'd call a Taiga + DRev another type. My guess was dark burn with Confidants or something.
there was 1 blue-red burn and 1 black-red burn deck that made it to day 2
on the deck breakdown for what made day two of GP seattle, 1 deck was listed as "blue burn" but it didn't make top 32 so i haven't been able to find a decklist...
what blue cards would you splash for in burn?
mind bomb? Psionic Blast and char?
since the rules text says that Woodland Wanderer enters the battlefield with the +1/+1 counters, would it trigger temur ascendancy if you paid WURG to cast it?
With a total count of 45, the easiest split is 4 10-card dual cycles, and one mono-color cycle.
Personally, I've always wanted Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth to be a cycle, but unless they are okay with legendary lands with plane-specific names, I doubt it'll happen. Plus, Urborg got a reprint recently, they probably would have held off.
So, speculate away on the 15 mystery lands.
20 mystery lands
my speculation is that we won't get the enemy new duals (just like we still haven't gotten the enemy lands from scars of mirrodin) in the winter expansion
if only Displacement Wave was an instant so you could make your opponent discard two after bouncing all permanents with a converted casting cost of 4 or less so you could play it a second time
A friend texted me last night absolutely fuming. He opened a box that contained zero mythics, 3 copies each of All Suns' Dawn and Horde of Notions, and the fourth most valuable card in the box were the two copies of Remand he pulled.
Good to see the disastrous pack distribution issues from the first Modern Masters are still present here.

My box barely broke 100$ in value. Wanted to cancel but my store wouldn't let me cancel.
The sheer amount of bull***** in rare slot, and stupifying amount of even dumber bull***** in common and uncommon rarity is too blame. Honestly I think I counted about 35-40 playable in my whole box. And at least 2 playesets of playables were in decks that are tier 2 or lower.
$100 seems very unlikely when you are guaranteed 3-5 mythics and 1-3 foil rares. If you got comet storm and nothing else maybe $150 in value. Deriums ccg opened dozens of boxes ranging between $200-1000 in value and e said most are about $240 in value break even.
I opened three boxes & i either had really weird boxes, (used starcity prices for everything, kept track of commons worth more than 0.25, uncommons worth more than 0.50, and all foils)
box 1: 3 mythics, 2 foil rares (302.75)
box 2: 2 mythics, foil mythic, foil rare (336.25 thanks to the foil dark confidant)
box 3: 1 mythic, 2 foil rares (224.75)
I can totally see someone pulling $140 from a box if they aren't counting the $1 uncommons or rares
no, it's due to them getting burned on Modern Masters 1
Really, I thought the original MM2013 was popular. I remember it going out of stock in gaming shops in my area (Kansas City and its suburbs). Did they order too much?
they wouldn't tell me, but I think they didn't sell it for enough over MSRP when they could have matched Star City like they usually do and made a huge profit
our LGS just announced that Regular customers can buy 1 box at $240, and that's it
no pre-orders and has to be bought in-store (not through their online store)
my favorite card is Celestial Dawn because the artwork is crazy and the original wording would change all of the symbols in your deck regardless of where the card was into W
with fetches and duals, it would be ad nauseam tendrils
