What are thoughts and opinions regarding Ugin, the Spirit Dragon? I think his -X can make for a better All is Dust or Oblivion Stone. Worth testing, IMO.
That makes sense, but I suppose I'm a sucker for semantics. Similarly, Kiki-Pod and Melira-Pod have many of the same mechanics, however are very different decks. Red Deck Wins and Burn are much in the same. Most Modern Burn lists will splash for Black and White to play Bump in the Night, sometimes Bob, and Boros Charm. Whereas RDW obviously runs more creatures and 'typically' is mono red.
While I agree that this difference can be offsetting to new players, the difference is still a separating void that divides the two archetypes significantly enough to warrant separate primers.
[card] Moment's Peace and [card] Into the North are worthy considerations. The mono green list that placed 3rd ran both of those. [card] Glacial Chasm main does a lot of work for me without taking up the additional slots. I may consider replacing [card] Explore with [card] Into the North. Amulet would help with the ETB tapped effect, which is nice. [card] Ancient Stirrings helps me dig for [card] All is Dust, lands of course, and Artifacts I either side in or run main.
I'm a bit of a noob here, but have been gazing at a few primers for quite some time. The Red Deck Wins Primer seems to be closed, which is interesting seeing as a RDW list (mayhap Burn) recently won a qualifier. I would like to see that primer revived and updated with current tools available and matchups with the current meta. Red Deck Wins is still very much a viable strategy, IMO.
I'm a noob here, but have been working on a Mono Green 12 Post list for awhile now, even before the top 4 slot it received recently. It's definitely more budget friendly without Tropical Island, Force of Will (some lists run them), and Show and Tell.
I've playtested against Red Deck Wins, Affinity, and Dredge, all with great success overall. Price of Progress sucks though! Legacy events in my area are few, far, and inbetween, thus I have yet to test my list in a competitive meta. I know there's Ad Nauseum/Tendrils, Show and Tell, Affinity or Dredge (pending what my friend brings), Death and Taxes, Countertop/Miracles, and not sure what else.
I apologize for the crappy formatting, so please forgive my lack of savvy, but here's my list:
