Hmm... although I really like this card, I have very mixed emotions about PWs as generals. I know people have been talking about it for a long time, but I didn't ever think I'd see it happen. Oh well, I guess just another step forward for CMDR.
Updated deck to a more UW control feeling, decided to go away from enchantress and focus on permanent removal (considering Oblation still), sweepers and counter magic. I also need to pick up a Guile & Dovescape to us a real wincon other than Luminarch Ascension. Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated!
I've been playing around with Yisan a bit and am trying to decide if he might be better as a piece in Vorel of the Hull Clade or as the general himself.
Anyways, I like Sylvan Safekeeper as a solid addition to this list. As for Sylvan Library vs. Abundance, I would just try it out and see which you prefer. Both do different things and both benefit the deck. Which you choose is up to you.
Just because it's worse than Harmonize doesn't make it bad. Harmonize is a card that I would play in any green deck that didn't also include blue or black. Act on Impulse may in fact not be good enough, but I'm eager to give it a try and find out for myself.
I like Act on Impulse as long as you're not tapping out to play it, lol. It's certainly not Harmonize, but we also don't have those options. However, compared to colorless, we have a LOT more options.
Love this general. As a Karn player myself, I was intrigued by Kurkesh when it was spoiled. I like the idea of sitting down at a table and not having every other player immediately know my game plan.
Guile + dovescape is always great for laughs. That plus any spell lets you go infinite and it gives you pretty hilarious protection against wrath effects (good luck dealing with the dovescape).
Hey, great idea! I was actually thinking of this EXACT thing & leaning more toward enchantress for this build. Guile is a great card here anyways, and adding Dovescape is just that much better.
This deck feels like it has one too many wrath effects in it. Each version (Terminius, Supreme Verdict, Wrath of God & Rout) and the original may be the weakest here. Thoughts on which to cut?
Also, I need a way to kill everyone beside Luminarch Ascension (which has done an amazing job, but it's kind of a one-trick pony). I don't want to go quick combos (Power Artifact/Grim Monolith) but I need to way to end things. Any suggestions that may be more league/politics friendly?
Meh, this is one product I'm not that interested in. Some of them look neat and maybe if there was a Liliana of the Veil, Jace TMS, or other walker I played, I would care more. But as is, I just can't seem to like these.
Hey all, this is my rough draft of an Isperia list that I've started to pilot. I really like Isperia's pillow-fort esque ability, which I enjoyed with Grand Arbiter years ago. I originally had the idea of a judge-themed deck (Supreme Verdict, Forbid, etc.) but I really just want to build this to be a straight UW control and to abuse Gideon/Tamiyo and Luminarch Ascension. Right now I need help refining the list, making it a little bit tighter and focused. Please feel free to share your comments, suggestions, etc.
The goal here was to add more creature-based effects to improve our ability to put out threats while removing cards that didn't do anything for us after their initial effect.
Grip doesn't stop the Altar at all - it is a mana ability (doing nothing but create mana).
Doh! You're right. Well so much for that. Still, works against things you don't want to go off in response like Mindslaver or Oblvion Stone.
Provided, of course, they aren't playing the artifact and then immediately cracking it. (When it resolves the active player will have priority again - if they crack the 'Slaver or O-Stone then by the time you could reply with K-Grip, the offending card will already be in the 'Yard).
Thank you for this post. It is amazing how many people do not know/understand this.
If it's KGrip v. Deglamer/Unravel I'd have to go Deglamer (though I play both) because of all of the Gods.dec I see.

I also really like Seeker of Skybreak-style effects, as using Yisan to find one of these (especially with Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots) is "just so good."

I do like the idea of Extraplanar Lens & Snow-Covered Mountains, but you are correct that there's already a lot of mana acceleration.
I'll have to put this together and bring it to a league night. Thanks for the post!

Though, to ISBPathfinder's point, the freebie does (at times) feel a little too powerful.
