Ok so I want to make sure I have this rule right. Take consul's shieldguard, when this card attacks it says you may pay (1 energy), and if you do, another target creature gains indestructible. Does that mean that I can pay multiple increments of 1 energy to give multiple instances of indestructible to multiple creatures? Another example is Thriving Rhino, can it gain multiple counters in a single combat phase. I ask because it would seem to me that it would work similar to wharf infiltrator where you can only pay once per turn and yet many reputable people within my region say you may pay multiple increments of the energy counters to trigger its ability.
So I checked with the comp rules on morph, manifest, double faced cards and face down cards and none of them seem to interact with each other to answer my question so the question is: What happens when you manifest (write into being) a double faced card (duskwatch recruiter?)
Yes. Each Swell of Growth that resolves will let you put a land from your hand onto the battlefield, so you can put up to three lands out in this scenario.
Lets Assume I have Zada, Hedron Grinder and 2 other creatures. I cast Swell of Growth targeting Zada. When the spells resolve it was copied twice and cast once. Does that mean I may put a total of up to 3 lands from my hand onto the battlefield?
Your ruling on this was my thought with Atarka and its triggered ability. Why would the damage go through when the card that caused the trigger is no longer there to deal the damage?
I am using the ruling above as reference. Hixus, Prison Warden I have a question about it's leave battlefield effect. Do the creatures exiled this way not return to the battlefield when the legend rule applies to this creature? If Dragonlord Atarka dealt damage by the trigger of its copy that was removed from the battlefield in a game state change then I am guessing that this would also apply to Hixus who never actually left the battlefield.
Hey guys, I got a simple question for you all: Can Vorel of the Hull Clade target creatures, artifacts or lands without any counters on it? I was using it in combination with Dismiss into Dream to force players to sacrifice creatures could not find a specific issue about this on the internet.
I have had a fascination with making a decent common deck that doesn't get completely destroyed at FNM. I didn't realize I was making a pauper deck until yesterday. Anyway, I've come up with a fairly good combination but I was wondering if anyone else had other standard ready pauper decks or had any suggestions to raise the potency of this deck.
I noticed there isn't much to counter a creature light deck. There is no counters for a burn deck as an expample. Personally, I would remove 1 Spear of Heliod and 1 Heliod, God of the Sun for a couple white life gains like Hopeful Eidolon, Font of Vigor, or Elixir of Immortality. This would buy you sometime while they deplete the cards in their hand.
Ok thanks for the clarification. So just so I am understanding correctly this is how the stack works: God-Favored General Untaps > The inspired ability is triggered > The Springleaf Drum Ability is activated > The drum ability resolves and mana is paid > Creature tokens are added and the inspired is resolved right?
Although, the Viper's Kiss should still have destroyed God-Favored General Right? He's been known to bend the rules so I have to question every move he does.
I'm still new to the game so there are few things I hope I can get clarified. I wasn't able to find a good answer on God-Favored General inspired ability. My cousin used Springleaf Drum on Turn 1 and then cast God-Favored General on Turn 2, he then used the drum to tap it for mana (although mainly prepare it to trigger it's inspired ability). By Turn 3 he untapped the general then used the drum to pay for the inspired ability. The way I would read the card is the inspired ability already resolved on the stack as he did not have the mana to pay for it until the next stack which was when he used the artifact. Also, I'm not understanding whether this inspired is a triggered ability to an activated ability because my spouse used Viper's Kiss to nullify it's activated ability but he said this inspired ability was not affected.
Cool thanks.
