    Walking Ballista would probably be the best card in this deck for an infinite mana dump.
    -Easier to tutor for.
    -Can be cast for two mana if you cant go off immediately. Cast for free to trigger Jhoira if you end up going another route to win.
    -Still triggers Jhoira's ability while killing everyone in the process.
    -Another thing you can sac to Arcum if you decide to go another route to win.
    -Easier to retrieve if it is in the graveyard.

    It may also be that the game is returning to normal numbers, keep in mind between 2012 and 2014 we had an 8 million increase. We had the following happen that doesn't really exist from every year after 2014 that has led to this 8 million player loss
    -Innistrad block
    -Ravnica block
    -Modern Masters 2013
    -Thoughtseize reprint
    -Modern was really kicking off in popularity as were modern staple prices
    -Khans of Tarkir with a lot of playables and fetch land reprint
    -The GP promos...well they were not the greatest but at the time, pretty good
    -The FNM promos, while in general have always been eh, there were a decent amount of really good ones and playable ones

    (things I can't easily cite myself yet but found numbers from an article on EchoMTG)
    it seems 7 million is our accepted static number and around Innistrad in 2011 is when it really started taking off with a 35% player increase in 2012, 2013 and 2014. So the fact that a lot of factors that led to such huge growth in such a short period of time not being there from after Khans of Tarkir can't be a coincidence with the 8 million leaving in three years. Is product quality and the state of Standard a factor? Absolutely but definitely can't be the only one.

    @Crimhead
    I really like your list, it reminds me of when I was still adjusting Mishra to my liking, that feeling and fun of just playing around with everything that Mishra stood for. Was also fun to get the Ice Cave lockout, so many janky wins it was great. One thing I will say is while I understand guardian beast is a problem due to price, but why no Padeem? He protects ALL your artifacts and more than likely will draw you an extra card each turn.

    As for recommendation of what to get, what Lord said, Darksteel Forge is the win con and once its out, unless they have exile you become a pain. Scarecrone is nice and all and his abilities are real good but not the level of effect Darksteel Forge produces just by being out.

    @LordRewind
    Going back to your set review, I'm actually not a big fan of As Foretold OUTSIDE of a control deck since they can capitalize immediately with an Ancestral Visions and then from there just seal the deal as they get a free counter + any additional counter mana they have open. Tempo is debatable but since they dont really run AV, hesitant since that's a turn with 3 mana doing nothing.

    I agree with Rewind, Scroll Rack and Top are infinitely cheaper. If you can afford/have both you'll get the effect you're looking for. That's not to say soothsaying is bad because the shuffle ability is actually extremely relevant with topdeck manipulation which while scroll rack is in most cases better, it does feel pretty bad when you use scroll rack n cant follow up with a fetch or tutor so you can shuffle the deck.

    @Rewind

    you're fine, no need to apologize.

    I mean I'll stick with Mishra even if there is a Zur player just for me. It's an honorable feeling somebody switched to Zur because they didn't like Mishra. Also I find Arcum beyond boring otherwise he'd be my artifact general in a heartbeat.

    But anywho, anything new worth talking about in Amonkhet for Mishra? Been keeping up somewhat with spoilers but not enough.

    I mean I understand what you're saying but idk, I just prefer turboing to my combo or mishra fun time. Doesnt help I have a zur player(actually switched to zur to hate me out with an easy stony silence) in my group so gotta go fast before stony silence comes out.

    like I'll admit I should probably hop generals cuz there are far better artifact combo generals but I cant abandon one of my first commander decks that I really loved n who doesnt love possibility storm/nether void shenanigans along with making praetor's grasp a lot stronger than it is at taking things out

    I dont mind The Abyss, just awkward in my meta, 2/5 of the decks it just cripples while the others just spam bodies anyways. I have thought about putting Spreading Plague back in since I run more combo than Mishra but it is always fun to set up the Mishra combos...just sucks with spreading plague out since Mishra will die. Only downside is the Eldrazi player since colorless is unfortunately not a color

    I could see that, during eldrazi winter I ran an Archangel of Thune just to pump my team and it did wonders if they didn't remove her. Glissa was also pretty sweet tech against things bigger than my dudes since not a lot things can win against first strike and deathtouch.

    What build are you going for?

    Not quite sure rn, Probably a WURG version with a 4/2 split of chord n evolution with a third evolution in sb for when I need to race the combo. I am half tempted to use the thune combo over kiki so a Kira can be ran to protect everything BUT the potential power and synergy kiki provides is worth the RRR.

    I believe I saw it, blue has a real strong arsenal in the form of its flash creatures(and a lot of them fly for 2-3 damage) and as you said, glen is strong. That is one thing I really dont like about kiki-jiki is the RRR in his cmc making the mana base extremely awkward and sometimes painful. The thune combo is pretty easy to slot in and less painful but it just doesnt synergize as well as kiki does. I can see the debate to play red or not to since on one hand the pay off is real good and game ending but the other is it taxes the mana base heavily.
    I haven't played modern in about a year now since my local lgs meta got a little too strong for my understanding and skill with kiki chord. Grant I miss the format so reassembling the deck since it's the only one I enjoy.

    what are the possibilities and abilities of shifting from a proactive naya black to a reactive white temur? Mana base aside, Restoration Angel already acts at instant speed so would swapping out some of the proactive creatures for some reactive flash creatures like spell queller & vendilion clique. Or even include a couple Elder Deep-Fiends to sac our spent 3+ cmc creatures so on our opponent's upkeep, put them off of a turn while also having a 5/6 in play.

    Not saying it's an optimal idea but just one I think is worth toying around with, thoughts?

    I like transmute artifact, even if you cant pay for the target, easy way to put it in the grave for welder-like effects to cheat it out. Plus the rings+basalt+sensei's combo is super low on the curve so paying for those, which are already useful cards, is easy to do.

    alright, appreciate it. I just know there is me(glissa and now also mishra) and a memnarch player that plays artifact so everyone has at least some artifact removal. Might change since two are building Sharuum(grant one of them is a little janky, other somewhat budget). but I can see powerful oppression that combos with mishra before some extra protection.

    I can see those changes, forgot about plague and chaos warp somehow. Though I do have a question about when to play Spreading Plague? I've never been good at evaluating when it's best to play it.

    Also, say I do end up getting Nether Void or Guardian Beast, would Nether Void take priority over Guardian Beast?

    That's fine, the high power level isn't my whole playgroup(but enough that we have at least one per table/game) and I already have a few myself. I want to remake Mishra since he was my first artifact deck and I enjoyed him a lot and can be something I can bring to one of the I play at where the power level is not as high...also who doesnt love abusing chaos cards to generate advantage
