I admit to being one of those new people to the deck, but I always assumed that the MD LabMan was not there because it was the BEST alt-win con for game one, but because it was good enough G1 if Storm is offline, and having it main over Conflagrate bought you another precious sideboard slot. Right?

Since Lightning Storm is enough in 90+% of game ones, and you frequently want a non-damage win condition post-sideboard, the question may actually be whether Conflagrate is enough better that it's worth its own deck building cost.

You could also just skip playing LabMan entirely for the two fireball effects, but that's it's own non-zero opportunity cost, too. Just some thoughts.

What do you think about Tarmogoyf in the SB????
Some guys used it at the worlds, like jeremy dezani. is it worth it to pay 800 for a playset of these guys?

Figured I'd toss my 2 cents in, since this has gone unanswered. Goyf does some good things for us. Blocking other Goyfs, mainly. However, we're not set up to really grow a Goyf, clear a path, and beat down with it like the RUG Delver decks or the B/G decks are. I think it ends up competing for sideboard space with Obstinate Baloth. There are matches where I'd rather have Goyfs (like matchups where I'm staring down 4/5 or greater Goyfs across the table), but generally I like Baloth better. The 4 life is big (especially in the now-common burn/delver metas), it's always the size you expect, and you can occasionally get sweet value when you discard it.

Also, a playset of Goyfs is roughly the same price as the entire rest of my 75. A playset of Baloths is $8.

If Slaughter Games becomes a problem in your meta (either from Ascendency combo or Tron), keep in mind that both Shadow of Doubt and Mindbreak Trap are capable of "countering" it and both have uses in other matchups.

Two Digs seems like it might be a little greedy. If your graveyard is empty, it does still cost eight mana. It's a more powerful effect, but much worse in multiples than Peer or Telling Time.

It could be right (we do put a lot of cards in the yard, and I like not showing people what I'm taking), but 2 is the absolute upper limit, I'd think.

Hi all, i'd like to ask if it's a stupid choice to put 1 auriok Champion in the side against twin!

Hmm. That's not the worst idea, actually. It keeps you from dying to Exarch and doesn't die to Bolt, Anger of the Gods, or to Flame Slash.

That said, we've already got both mainboard and sideboard hate for Twin (Spellskite, Combust, Path, Linvala) and all of those cards are also really good in other matchups. If you're seeing a lot of Twin at the store on Thursday or whatever, I could see it being darn good. In a wider meta, however, I'd like my sideboard to be a little more nimble.
