Wow. What an asinine policy. And no thank you, you've all been exactly as helpful as anticipated. Thank you for my time and patience.

Sent this to some moderators. Hoping this will do the trick.

"I'm done with this ridiculous forum and the good ol' boy system you moderators have against any ideas with which you may disagree. I don't have the interest in figuring out how to delete my account so you just do it for me. Your moderation has been very effective at paring down conversations to the LOWEST common denominator... all in the name of 'preserving discourse.' I'm very glad that you moderators have one another to reinforce each others' ideas, even when they're terrible. Hopefully, this message will do the trick and I will never have to read another one of your or Barinellos' inane posts. For the future, you should make it so that the moderators can be ignored. You all contribute next to nothing to the conversation and, in fact, serve to stifle it. Thank you for just a great experience with the forum."

Is there a way to do a Wedge block without being a Gold set? i.e. something like how Apocalypse was with Ceta/Dega/Raka etc.?

Because then it would be a Wedge block, but not necessarily a Multicolor block.

This is where my speculation lies exactly. A wedge cycle or sub-theme is something asked for and never done. As for the something old (but reimagined) I would think something like Flanking or Horsemanship or Bushido only less confusing and more fun.

Honestly, I want Elspeth to come back and wipe out all the gods except for Kruphix, Athreos and Thassa, who actually seem reasonable. Heliod can go **** himself with his own spear.

    Iroas and Karametra seem reasonable.

And didn't Pharika save Elspeth? Plus, Phenax just gonna Phenax, so he coo'.

Evidently you haven't noticed the black flag right under the nose of the dragon, nor the one off to the very left. I'm not saying it's a wedge block (I personally think it's not, though I'd be ecstatic if it was (like my opinion of Kiora being in BotG, which I was adamant wasn't true until it was announced and now I love her to bits)), I'm just trying to help you understand why some people think it is.

Oh I understand that you're not claiming black flags prove anything. I'm just saying that even if they did (and they don't) those aren't black. The ones you mention are grey. I understand why people want to see that as black and think that it means something, but I'm just trying to point out how tenuous that interpretation is.
Sorry but they are dark enough to be black with the right lighting. We appear to agree that it is just people being hopeful but you appear to not accept that that is close enough to be black to be misconstrued by people, which it really is.

    COLOR FIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!!

While I don't think that the KTK block will be a wedge-themed block (ala Alara or even the Ravnica cycle) and that it will be primarily mono-colored, I do think we could get a bit of wedge love in the form of alliances under the various Khans. I could see things like wedge-type Khans that oversee differing mono colored tribes (red for goblins allied with elves and merfolk for the RUG wedge, for a very basic and lame example). This way, we get some new wedge Commanders which has been something clamored for.

The first picture we got of Elspeth Tirel's art had a lot more green than the art that made it onto the card. An absurdly large portion of the MTGSalvation community took this to mean that she was absolutely definitely without a doubt W/G, and anyone who said otherwise was a blind idiot. It was pretty bad.
Which is exactly why, when the MTGS community is going crazy over the KTK picture and about how it's "Dega" without a doubt, I just chuckle.

As a member of the group that absolutely is on board the KTK-wedge train (I mean, come ON! Look at those banners in the picture!) I can't help but chuckle myself at my fanboy predictions.

There is little we know of Tezzeret that is white at this moment. Correct. However, I don't think a Tezzperet (coining it now) is off the table. He could theoretically be fundamentally abhorred by the Phyrexian's compleation of Mirrodin, leave Bolas and seek help against the Phyrexian threat (which we all KNOW is coming...in our hearts, if not our heads).

    Nope.
He thinks they are brutish and ignorant, but he admires the concept of Phyrexia. He thinks the execution could use some work though.

Well, I'll be sure to take your word on the future as canon. *cough* Elspeth. *cough*

Pretty sure that I WAS attacking her/his previous ideas and using them as a reason to attack her/his current idea. I guess I should just know better than to disagree with a moderator on this site. It has a reputation for a reason...

imo It would be Tezzeret, considering major characters with 3-color associations leave players/fans with expectations that they will achieve mastery over all 3, while Ajani is White, he's spread to Red/White and its expected he will take an alternate step to Green/White before becoming a Red/Green/White auramancer eventually. Back on topic, I think the same can occur with Tezzeret, though I can't predict how his personality will accommodate the addition of White, and if that would occur before, during, or after a potential flipping Nicol Bolas the bird

There is very very little about Tezzeret that justifies the white drop. Not even the love of order can really justify it since the other colors would overpower those characteristics to the point you couldn't count them.

And he's been flipping Bolas the bird for more than a decade now. He isn't doing it to accommodate others, he's doing it because he hates Bolas. u/b is where Tezzeret belongs, even if he does know a smattering of white magic. It isn't enough.

Also the multiverse needs its team of "bad" walkers...

... because, historically, cooperating with other villains has always worked out for villains (see Tezzeret re: Bolas; Sarkhan re: Bolas; demons re: Liliana).

If her contract with the demon required her to planeswalk (like with Kothophed) then her soul would be kept intact until the bargain was reached and not before. I'd be willing to bet that any demon worth his wings wouldn't just squander the chance to use a planeswalker for one measly soul.

Baseless Speculation: what if one of the demons is Ob Nixilis on Zendikar? It would make for a nice way to shoehorn her into that return block.

Actually, come to think of it, this all raises a rather intriguing question:

Why would she bother coming back as a Returned at all?

To organize the other Returned into an army!

Really interesting to see Elspeth's phyrexian past in the clips. I wonder what it signifies...?

Thank you for posting this. I don't think I would have revisited these clips otherwise. The post-credit pieces are the most interesting. We are most definitely getting a return to Theros although not for a few years. As we saw at the end with her super-sweet death-mask (thanks for crafting that, Ajani!) Elspeth is in the Underworld. Those last few images were telling of the story for a future (again, top-down) Theros set/block/supplemental. Here's what I think it might signify:

In the underworld we see a group (I'm assuming Erebos and his ilk) atop a high wall/fortress overlooking hordes of the Returned. Then we come upon a seemingly-endless column of Returned leading up to? Elspeth's death mask. On Theros the Returned kind of just do hollow impressions of what they did in life, seemingly aimless and disorganized. Who is really good at organizing? Elspeth. The question now is: does Elspeth - who we know does not remember her past - fight for Erebos? And if so, does this make her future iteration Black/White?

Before all of this we have Ajani mourning Elspeth. Obviously, the Solidarity of Heroes will not allow him to do anything but help her Return from the Underworld. Most likely by joining her Eidolon with her Nostrum. Would this be ample opportunity for the Nayajani that nobody but me would love to see? If/when he DOES restore Elspeth (more than likely sacrificing his own spark in the process as PW's are fond of doing), do we then get another character who has a Legendary Creature and Planeswalker card in the same block?

Say what you want about Jenna Helland and her writing but she has created a story with a lot of potential for growth even while working within the millennia-old formulae of Greek tragedy. As she herself said, Elsepth's story isn't over.

What I do notice about the set is the not-yet-obscene amount of walls/creatures with defender. I think we can expect to see combat-related or 'aggro' things popping up in all five colors.
