I'm getting back into Standard after sometime. It seems that creature-less burn decks are dead...
I'm curious if anyone runs this nowadays with so many decks with creatures that can be pumped up so fast.
I know WOTC on podcast and blogs said that creatures are better for game play, but I miss the old days where creatures were for the most part optional and burns decks could rely on goblin generators to have decent blockers.
I stare at cards and do searches (essentialmagic.com); build decks (even if using proxies); and play! There's lots of new abilities and mechanics to learn.
Do some drafts and FNMs build up your experience. As far as cards if you can afford to do so buy some boxes ($95 on amazon), trade old cards, etc.
In the meantime play modern or legacy with your current collection.
Hate to double post but great job on mtgimage.com,. If you open source the missing symlinks in github I'd love to help and contribute. (if help is needed.)
How do you guys rationalize this?
Less clutter? Something to do on your free time?
Just curious who all is using/building MTG related web apps.
Nowadays I code in node/mongo, but I've been known to dabble in PHP/MySQL/POSG/GO very little RoR ... obvious the basics are covered HTML/CSS/JS.
And if so, what's your style of deck building?
Aggro and Burn are ones I personally like.

Times have changed.

New to MTGSalvation .... not new to MTG.
Hope to see some of you around the forums.
