So I'm having this issue with the client where the store page wont load anything. Its just blank.
And yes I have reimnstalled MTGO and done what the support chat has told me to do. It hasnt worked. This just started today and It was fine yesterday. Any ideas what might have happened.
Played it in draft last night and it alone won me games. The sheer amount of card draw it generates on a hard to beat body is insane. Ive been testing it in my Gitrog EDH deck and its just plain bonkers. Insane card draw. The deck also plays Mazeriek, so those two together is beyond gross. I think its really good in decks that cant normally get access to the powerful draw option in blue or black. Though I would say its likely on par with red options in most cases.
I am not able to install MTGO on my PC. I'm running Windows 8.1 and I have plenty of hard drive space and sufficient RAM. All that happens is an error message appears saying "An error occurred attempting to install Magic The Gathering Online." If I click the details button all I get is the following:
If Skyline cascade actually tapped the creature in addition to freezing it, I would say that this wouldnt be that bad of an idea to abuse, but the card isnt worth trying to abuse. Once the opponent sees you attempt to try and "abuse" this card, they will easily play around it.
Assuming you mean Official EDH as managed by the RC when you say "this format", your post is irrelevant. This topic isn't about discussion of Official EDH as managed by the RC. It's about creating a different format, with a different banlist, but similar rules otherwise. To capture the magic in a bottle that was 99 card singleton plus a General, but without the philosophy of mandated casualness, so those spikey types you seem to hate/fear have another option, and can stop either making your games miserable, or being miserable in your games.
But yeah, this is about creation of a new, different but similar, format. Sort of like how EDH was once a new format.
I just had to single this out. EDH never was and never will be created for the "Spikes". Different formats exist for different reasons and if the average Spike cant tolerate it, that means that EDH isnt for them. I see this whole discussion and a pathetic attempt for Spike to be included where he simply just doesnt belong. Its as simple as that. EDH is a Casual Multiplayer format. Not some Vintage + format that needs to cater to that specific subset's needs. Trying to create some arbitrary ban list that no one will ever agree on is a wasteful use of everyone's time.
Dont get me wrong, I love playing Legacy and Modern and Standard. I love to win. But I love EDH the most because you remember those games. Those 4-hour games that could never happen in hyper competitive scenes. The RC arent perfect, the list isnt perfect, but its better than anyone of us could ever come up with.
Attempting to create a Multiplayer Competitive EDH format just isnt possible, because the term Multiplayer is synonymous with casual.
I find it rather interesting that when the majority of people cry about a set, its because they dont see and eternal format defining cards and because they dont the set automatically sucks and isnt worth touching. thats sad.
While I dont think this set is groundbreaking, i look at the following points....
1. Power. Staple cards are truly hard to spot at first blush... Courser of Kruphix says hi. Point is, we cant judge a set so early when it comes to powerful cards. Every set for the past decade has provide many staple cards to ALL formats from standard to commander and back. Some more than others, some bigger than others. So, I tend not to judge till we actually get to test and play everything. ???
2. Story. This story is awesome from a "we get to see what happened from last time" side. The story is certainly interesting and it still feels up in the air as to who wins. Thats cool. B -
3. Art. Art. Art.... this set hands down has some of the best art Ive seen in a while. Original Zendikar was amazing. And has some of my favorite art. A+
4. The Gimmick. In this case its the expeditions. Sure its gimmicky and you likely wont open many if any, but the excitement is there. and while I tend to buy the cards I need and want after a certain point, I love playing limited and really love craking packs, so this adds a huge notch in the awesome and fun category. B
5. Limited. Now, like I said I love limited, but I dont quite know what to think of this format. It seems like they wanted to have both Zendiakr limited and ROE limited at the same time... I'm not sure what to feel yet until I play it, but it seems akward as of now... C
So with those five factors I would rate this set a B - as of know. Its got lots to desire, and yet isnt perfect.
Hi all and welcome to my first cube list post. This is the second cube I've made. My goal with this cube is to make a synergestic cube that allows for powerful decks to be made in a variety of ways. Its not super powered, but I cant quite say its an unpowered cube. I wanted to add some hi dden gems along with plenty of solid limited cards to make a fun cube that hopefully doesnt get boring fast. I havent done much testing with it yet, but so far it seems playable and fun. Feedback is very much needed and appreciated.
Basic Information Cube Size: 420 cards. Breakdown: 50 of each color, 35 artifact, 100 multicolored, 35 land. Includes 5 Conspiracies. Standard or Theme: Standard/Guild Snow Lands: Nope Average Number of Players: 4-6, can handle up to 8. How Often Drafted: Weekly (hopefully).
Card Selection Proxies: Nope. Powered: Nope. Portal: Nope. "Un" Cards: Nope. Banned Cards for Power-Level: Nope. Banned Cards for Time Constraints: Anything that slows a multiplayer game to a crawl. That being said, I tried to make sure the cube supports all archetypes well. Banned Cards for "fun" factor: See above.
Cube Design Standard or Multiplayer: Standard or Multiplayer Sideboards?: Yes. Perfect Creature/Spell Balance: No Gold Balance: Yes Hybrid/Split/Kicker as Gold: Hybrid and Split yes, 1 Multikicker. Color Triggers as Gold: Nope. Perfectly Balanced CMC: Not perfect but it attempts to have a strong 1,2,3,4 sequence of plays with emphasis on turns two and three. The goal was to have a faster environment then a normal set.
To give a quick intro, I choose to support all ten guilds and for each guild I choose a main Keyword that I would amplify and base the guild around. Second, I made it so Certain pairs of guilds had similar strategies so that Wedges and shards could be playable and if the cards are drafted just right, they could be more powerful than the guilds.
My first deck was a Grim-Grin Zombie tribal, which is to this day, the only deck I made that I havent had a major redo/revision/reconstruction for. Its the one deck I made that even plays flavor-fully that I cant change it.
The deck Im most comfortable playing is my Progenitus Super Friends Control. Its my "Pimp" deck if you will. Not all foiled but rather where Ill put my best cards first. My more expensive versions ect. Its the deck with my most favorite theme (PW's) and its insanely tuned and powerful compared to the rest of my decks.
It's a part of the game and pretty much essential to control strong ramp stratagies. I see no problem with it if it's used in the correct mamner. The only time I don't like it is when it's used purely for spite and hatred.
I think people complaining about an important answer to certain decks are really just the sore loser who lose to it.
As long as the game was fun, and everybody was in the spot light, a game that was memorable, then I'm pretty much fine with that. Finnish the game how you want,
I had a shadowborn deck. It was fun for a few times but it got boring after a while and I quickly dismantled it. I wouldnt recommended investing in it.
And yes I have reimnstalled MTGO and done what the support chat has told me to do. It hasnt worked. This just started today and It was fine yesterday. Any ideas what might have happened.
