I'm interested in turning my Landstill deck into a Stoneblade build, given the former's decline against increasingly faster decks. The deck currently looks like this:
Ditch Decree of Justice, Wrath of God, and obviously Humility. Also, eliminate some Engineered Explosives and maybe Sensei's Divining Tops. Standstill is in a pretty debatable position right now--you might be able to leave them in. Then, throw in the creatures and equipment. You might be able to put the Wrath of Gods and EEs in the sideboard, but the rest have to go.
I made the following changes:
-2 Wrath of God
-2 Humility
-2 Decree of Justice
-3 Engineered Explosives
-2 Elspeth, Knight Errant
+1 Batterskull
+1 Sword of Feast and Famine
+1 Sword of Fire and Ice
+4 Stoneforge Mystic
+4 Snapcaster Mage
I'm interested in turning my Landstill deck into a Stoneblade build, given the former's decline against increasingly faster decks. The deck currently looks like this:
I was wondering how the hell I was going to trade away the foil Mirror-mad Phantasm that I got out of an Innistrad box the other day, but this thread suggests that there might be hope.
I'm tossing up between these two generals, but from my experience with Savra, it gets frustrating when I don't get the token generators required to get an engine going.
From what I can see, Teneb does more of a reanimation thing, which I think is somewhat easier to get going, graveyard removal notwithstanding.
I'm currently running a deck based around Savra, Queen of the Golgari, but for a while, I've been wondering whether to add white to have a deck that plays more like BGW Rock. I like the disruption/removal/recursion gameplan, and being able to respond to most threats.
Savra is fun when you keep making everyone else lose creatures, but the lock takes a while to put together even with tutors, and I'm finding green and black removal alone is not quite enough to nail specific targets. Adding of white would open up yet more removal, including mass board wipe.
Both Doubling Season and Gaea's Cradle are relavant to your deck. And I see no reason the Survival of the Fittest is not auto included but Chord of Calling
..and why Sylvan Library/Worm Harvest removed from your list? Sylvan Library give you great card advantages, even you gave lots of life but you can easily gain back from Savra.
Sylvan Library was never removed from the deck. I didn't think I would be able to put enough lands in the graveyard to make Worm Harvest worth the trouble. Cycle lands may help in this regard.
All Phyrexian Tower/Miren, the Moaning Well/High Market are relavant to your list to be auto included. imo, Greater Good is not that good as you will have too many tokens, Ashnod's Altar does better. Oversold Cemetery is too slow
Those lands were recently acquired and are now in the deck. Was thinking of Malevolent Awakening as an alternative recursion engine instead of Oversold Cemetery.
I acquired a few more cards, and reworked the deck again to take out some of the 'cute' stuff that didn't really contribute to the overall game plan.
Is 4 Birds of Paradise doable? Sure, you don't get any exalted triggers, but Birds are dead easy to obtain.
1 Mountain
2 Forest
3 Plateau
1 Savannah
4 Taiga
4 Wooded Foothills
4 Windswept Heath
4 Kird Ape
4 Wild Nacatl
4 Tarmogoyf
4 Qasali Pridemage
2 Knight of the Reliquary
4 Chain Lightning
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Sylvan Library
4 Lightning Helix
1 Umezawa's Jitte
What improvements could be made?
Kird Ape or Goblin Guide?
Is Green Sun's Zenith a must?
7 Island
4 Flooded Strand
4 Mishra's Factory
2 Polluted Delta
4 Tundra
4 Snapcaster Mage
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Brainstorm
3 Standstill
3 Spell Snare
3 Counterspell
4 Force of Will
2 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
2 Sensei's Divining Top
1 Batterskull
1 Sword of Feast and Famine
1 Sword of Fire and Ice
Not particularly convinced that Standstill should still stick around. Perhaps putting Engineered Explosives back in could do more good.
Yeah, I suspected as much. The deck relied on a lot more white mana previously.
How many Plains would you switch for Islands?

-3 Engineered Explosives
-2 Elspeth, Knight Errant
+1 Batterskull
+1 Sword of Feast and Famine

+4 Stoneforge Mystic
+4 Snapcaster Mage
The clumsy end result looks like this:
5 Island
4 Flooded Strand
4 Mishra's Factory
2 Polluted Delta
1 Scrubland
2 Tundra
1 Underground Sea
4 Snapcaster Mage
4 Swords to Plowshares
4 Brainstorm
3 Standstill
3 Spell Snare
3 Counterspell
4 Force of Will
2 Jace, the Mind Sculptor
2 Sensei's Divining Top
1 Batterskull
1 Sword of Feast and Famine
1 Sword of Fire and Ice
I'm pretty sure more modifications need to be done, but what?

Which parts could still be used, and which parts should be cut to include the equipment and creature package?
As an aside, shouldn't the primer be revised to account for the banning of Mental Misstep?

White also opens up a few more options for recursion such as Karmic Guide, Debtor's Knell, Reveillark and Sun Titan.
However, I'm not entirely sure which BGW general would be the most suitable for the task.
What other issues should I be considering?

- Cultivate
- Profane Command
- Bone Shredder
- Oversold Cemetery
+ Barren Moor
+ Sylvan Scrying
+ Shriekmaw

Still need to strip out two or three more basic lands to free up slots.
Don't have Doubling Season, Gaea's Cradle or Survival of the Fittest on hand.
