I don't think it helps enough against Humans, they can just play around it with Vial. Sure we'll hit two creatures with some luck, but then we're also down two cards, and that's provided we have something black to pitch. Not impressed.

It's.. gonna be great for The Rock and Jund, and completely unplayable in Shadow decks as these lands make it too difficult to manage your life total.

    We'll most definitely want to.

    It's a 3/3. Sometimes.

UW has been leaning towards Verdicts lately, which makes Thrun better than he was before. Still, his stats aren't that impressive anymore.

didoguidotti1 (amazing MTGO grinder) has been on the planeswalker sideboard package and i think there's merit to it. He's running 2 Veil, 2 Hope, 1 JTMS to help with the grindy matchups. This is a big boon against UW and BGx.

Humans is still a massacre I guess.

I would never run Abrade maindeck in GDS, the deck runs such a tight ship it can't allow for even a single potentially dead card. Maindeck Kcommand is certainly an interesting proposition right now though.

The only real answer is nobody knows.

Yeah, do you want to lose to Tron all the time or 2/3 of the time, is the question regarding Trophy basically.

Humans has a very diverse creature base and -3/-3 is generally not going to cut it.

Same here, Decay is looking more appealing with that annoying little new Teferi out.

Elderspell is a bit too conditional for my tastes and gets blown out by literally every counterspell that UW might run including Spell Snare. The sorcery speed is a major drawback. Trophy, Pulse, Decay. Running Choke in my sb right now but it might be too narrow.

UW has gotten so many good toys in the past two years, which is fair enough, but man I hope MH helps us out a bit as well. BBE and Trophy alone aren't going to cut it at this rate.

Karn being run in Mono red prison

Karn is everywhere now. From Prison decks to Tron to Amulet to Titanshift, it's getting out of hand already.

Do you mean done for until a meta shift, or gds looking bad as a whole?

Hopefully the former, but all the top tier decks are getting tougher and tougher for us to beat. Like you said, Blast Zone is rough and it slots into Dredge, Tron and UW alike. It's impossible to interact with and hits us where it hurts, when it hurts - the early turns.

I'm laying my beloved Traverse Shadow to rest for a bit and switching to UR Kiki, it's just such an uphill battle right now.

Just play JTMS as a 4-drop if anything. Honestly, between the metagame shifting towards UW, Humans and Dredge, and cards like Veto and Blast Zone being printed, i think GDS is done for.

Three Fields in a three-color deck sounds very risky to me. I don't think Jund wants to be playing Ponza mode like The Rock does as we want to be able to close games a bit faster than that. What did you cut for them?

Hard to say, but your playgroup at work should be very difficult for you to beat. Humans, control and BGx decks are some tough matchups for GDS in general. Merfolk isn't exactly a pushover either. Maybe it's the skill level of your colleagues?
