any thoughts on what could make this run a little more consistently? was debating rattleclaw. as for sideboard im thinking some removal. also plummet or anything that can deal with enchantments and artifacts.. any thoughts?
if you are looking for a one drop and are not playing it foul tounge shriek is good, I have won several games with it, that and late game it can be a life saver, one instance when playing in the mirror match aginst better equipped elves (a deck that had chords and company and obelisk), I won the game by dropping shaman and swinging with 5 bodies then playing the 3 I drew for the win
give some thought to managorger hydra, it can be dropped on turn 2. if it is not answered it blows them out of the water, if it is answered it is one less removal or direct burn you have to worry about.
ok with another FNM gone here are the results.
Round 1 against abzan: 2-0 first game was a quick burn through with denizen and fodders. sided in roast instead of wild slash, frienzied out in favor of heelcutter. for the win.
round 2 aginst mono green devotion 0-2. gaind ground quick with denizen into swift spear followed by my opponent droping polukranos and going monster. I tried to hang in but as I lost ground he gained it and was able to pull shenanigans with shrine to get an early ugin I could not recover from. second game was much of the same when I failed to draw roast to handle green beefey dudes.
round 3 was another abzan deck 2-0: much the same as above abzan match with frenzied and zurgo and swiftspear doing much of the work against a lone rhino, only sided in 3 roast and a heelcutter in place of 2 wild slash and 2 outburst for the second, rabblemaseter and fodder did it this time, finished with a become immense on rabblemaster w 6 tokens on the board
round 4 was u/b control 2-1: first game was a fast burn through with small drops. second game was bad as soon as ojatai hit the field followed by silumgar. third was over after mulliganing to 6 to get a berserker and 2 edilons in hand, my opponent didn't answer edilon after the turn one berserker and the deck took off from there.
my impressions after playing it for 2 weeks now is if you prefer to play agro this is definitely a deck worth looking into, it is quick and if played right capable of shenanigans, now if only I could come up with a more reliable answer to green devotion.
Tonight I Will be playing the deck Dang won with at the pro tour (atarka agro). I will be taking notes during my matchups and post the results here. luckily my meta is mostly control, but lately agro has crept in, mostly mono red or b/w agro, so here is hoping I get my foot on the gas first.
been playing mono b agro forever and want to change to B/R since the new stuff has settled down and mono b isn't as much of a power house as it once was. any suggestions? my jumping off point is like I said mono b agro, specifically the three drop curve one I only have 3-4 b/r dual lands.
ok tomorrow im tring to decide between MBA or MBD. my meta is showing a lot of rabble red and a lot of GW and a lot of mono w or bw life gain any thoughts? current mba
ok need a little help. for the longest time i was able to take MBA or MBD down to my local shop and place at least top 3 usually splitting first with a gw deck that i just couldnt ever find a way to out speed after sideboard, now though it seems like my meta is heavy red weather it is rable red or straight rdw. as a result i usually go 2-2 sometimes 3-1 i know im doing something wrong any suggestions? (i just cut from 22 land to 20 and pulled painseer because he usually does more harm than good with a 3cmc like herald downfall or master coming up, which hurts bad against red to the face)
well at the chicago gp i was hoping to see a mba deck go far the only results ive seen so far is who took first and it was a mbd so im thinking of going back to it
want reliable removal and devotion... Godsend. removes the creature blocking equiped creature or removes a creature you block before combat and keeps opponent from casting that spell again.. with 2 devotion
got lucky w jou prerelease and got both. since then ive gathered 1 more iroas and 2 more godsend i want to build a deck around them but i have no idea where to start. any thoughts?
eh went 2-2 tonight. still won a pack loses were to a mill deck because i couldnt pull a downfall after an early ashiok and a jace chaser
second was to b/w agro the loss was because of all creatures gaining lilelink and deathtouch
