I've also been trying to make a Champion of the Parish based Modern deck.
I know red/white soul sisters has had some success using him but that's an entirely different thing altogether.
Have you thought about splashing any other colors?
I used to play a blue white humans deck. It was kind of weird.
Champion of the parish
Invisible stalker
Snapcaster mage
Silver Inlaid Dagger (instead of rancor)
Avacyn's Pilgrim is really nice for ramp in GW Humans
Of Course, you don't have anything larger than a 3 drop now.
I liked to run two copies of Angelic Overseer.
There were times when I had invisible stalker and her on the field together.
That was incredibly frustrating for the opponent.
Even with a board wipe you're still left with Overseer.
Also, faith's shield seems like a clear upgrade from stave off.
Other humans to consider:
Grand Abolisher
Burning Tree Emissary
Experiment One
Huntmaster of the Fells
Boros Elite
Doomed Traveler
Precinct Captain
Student of Warfare
Riders of Gavony (Surprisingly good in an all humans deck)
Soldier of the Pantheon
Mikaeus the lunarch
Fiend Hunter
Somberwald Sage
Champion of Lambholt
Silverblade Paladin
Hero of Bladehold
War Falcon has never been good enough for me.
Thalia is almost always awesome, but I run it as a one of.
I realize that in any competitive deck, playing "4ofs" of most cards is a good idea.
However as this is kitchen table, I'm not interested in consistency. In fact, I'm leaning towards making this cycle of decks highlander.
I don't expect these decks to be serious threats against finely tuned decks but a good challenge each other with a lot of sideboard options for the pilot to work with.
I'm looking for card suggestions that fit any of these four decks.
Also looking for sideboard material to hate on each other without being overpowering.
My parameters,
Each deck is two colors only.
Just one copy of any legendary permanent.
Other than basic lands, decks cannot play any of the same cards.
Art and flavor of cards is a big plus.
Budget is preferred but I am willing to buy or trade for a few key pieces.
Format is basically modern but without banning any cards.
Nearheath Pilgrim can be good against opponents with life gain or who just want to race you.
Finally, faith's shield is always awesome to have as removal stopper or form of evasion on a huge double striking human.
I have thought about adding True Believer to my main deck or at least side for people who use lots of "target player" effects.
PS, I have also been thinking about splashing red and reducing some of the heavy white requirements. I plan on using a full four cavern of souls for color fixing. (Not exactly budget I know.)
Buy a fat pack!
It isn't the most cost efficient thing.
But I bought one for my girlfriend (Gatecrash set to be specific) and she really liked it!
It makes magic into a neat little game with a box, and accessories.
Women like a nice presentation and pictures you know.
You could introduce magic to her as a grubby little stack of used cards you bought online...
or as a shiny new toy with a free dice and random chances!
Then you let her open all the packs and maybe one of the rares she opens will become "her card".
People tend to become attached to cards they open themselves.
If you get Fate Reforged fat pack, you might get a foil dragon!
Lately I have been trying to find a balance between three casual decks.
My girlfriend and I nicknamed them Rock, Paper, and Scissors.
Rock is a BG deck.
Paper is a soul sisters deck
Scissors is a UWb gifts ungiven deck
The ordering isn't like the usual game however.
Names were more for thematic effect.
We are testing them to see what matchup scores will result.
So far it seems that Soul Sisters beats UWb gifts
but dies to rock.
UWb gifts (scissors) beats rock but dies to Paper
Rock beats paper, but dies to scissors.
Has anyone else ever tried to make a triad like this?
And if so, what sort of things did you use?
Thanks!
(A lot of these choices are not optimal
due to budget and what I had)

I always thought Geralf's Messenger would be fun to build around.
My first recommendation is try Blood Artist instead of Falkenrath Noble.
The other idea I had was Dark Prophecy. That could equal multiple cards per turn.
Finally, tragic slip can be good removal.
Not exactly budget, but only a little more expensive than Wilt-leaf liege.
Those two would have synergy still.
Also the added benefit of being pumped by rancor or vines of vastwood.
This is a favorite deck of mine.
I've also been trying to make a Champion of the Parish based Modern deck.
I know red/white soul sisters has had some success using him but that's an entirely different thing altogether.

PS Cavern of Souls is also awesome.
(My apologies if card pricing is not allowed here)
I can't believe it was going for less than 50 cents until this past summer.
Then all of a sudden people realize it's a sweet playable card?
Is it the new players or what?
They can catch your opponents off-guard game 2.

I am not going for a high level of power necessarily, just that they are equal to one another.
And without further ado here are the decks in question. (Lists are approximate, each has a rather large 'unofficial' sideboard.)

First thing I'd recommend is Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, I only use one because I'm weird about legendary status but two would probably be good.
If you're going to use green like I did, definitely throw in a couple rancor.
And to mitigate the anti-synergy with mirran crusader, swap him out for silverblade paladin.
I also added Sigarda, Host of Herons in addition to the two angelic overseers.
I don't use Honor of the Pure, instead the only anthems I use are Mayor of avabruck and angel of jubilation (as another singleton).
Nearheath Pilgrim can be good against opponents with life gain or who just want to race you.
