It is for this reason that the Manifest and Morph tokens are useful.

This was exactly my thought process. I sort of assumed already the price increase was due to hype. But I hadn't seen any deck lists posted anywhere post-rotation, so I figured I might has missed something.

It's sort of depressing. If only it just read "At the beginning of your end step, if you didn't cast ~ this turn, discard your hand. But then it's too good. :l

Or is that initial draw back just far too much to deal with? Giving all vampires in your hand madness is pretty sweet, and allows for the draw two part to be relevant, as well as giving the user the ability to cast lightning bolt in standard.

However, the initial "discard your hand" the turn he comes out isn't exactly sweet either.

I've noticed a slight price jump in the card. Is that just speculation or has it been confirmed playable now?

Props to all the people who stuck it out with this deck. I had to stop playing it around this time last year. I probably still have most if not all of the core intact. Might piece it back together.

Highly recommended, we have been given a gift in the form of Ancestral Vision and imo the deck is becoming viable again.
I just don't see the card being all it's hyped up to be.

If Eldrazi remain even a slight contender in the meta then they counter the card extremely well, and fae already has a bad match-up to thopter combo.

Group land? Party land? I don't know, lol.

My vote goes to party land, personally.

Damn the Glacial Fortress cycle for the term "buddy land."

That would have been such a good term. :l

I noticed the twitter announcement as well, but they changed the twitter thing back to "premium" mythic rare. I really hope they are less rare than a mythic, but I fear that they are actually slightly less rare than a foil aka premium rare. I still have my fingers crossed they will be only as rare as a regular mythic.

    Also, are they all foil?

"Premium" is the official term for foil, yes.

  • posted a message on Is legacy gaining popularity right now?
The scene in Connecticut is steadily rising. A lot of people at even my casual LGS have gotten into legacy. A lot of them use the logic "Why play Modern, where cards could be banned out of nowhere, when Legacy lets you play them all efficiently. The difference in a jund modern deck to a competitive Legacy deck is negligible." (I'd like to add that the player I paraphrased now plays omnitell in legacy.)

I find the combo spoil+ grace + laboratory maniac really powerful, it's rare to have a second combo that use the tools of the first in a deck and i really like this plan, somebody thought of playing more maniacs? (i know it's weak to anti creatures but...)

I always find you don't need more than 1.

Unlife/Grace with vault and maniac is so good I think it's actually worth maindecking. There's also a soul sisters and boggles in my meta, which means that if I let them gain too much life it's actually impossible to win without the second combo main deck.

  • posted a message on I'm looking to make an Oona, Queen of the Fae deck with near limitless budget.
I know you said you were looking for more of an aggro deck then control, but if you wanted a different route with Oona you can always go HEAVY black?

Here --> VX-109 is my take on Oona. With a "near limitless budget" $1200 should be no problem (Tappedout doesn't account for Mana Crypt for some reason).

It's got an Infinite in her of course and a bunch of fun interactions. She has been known to go aggro a time or two before as well. Good deck and lots of fun to throw around the table.

I don't know why I forgot helm of possession existed, but I did. I think your list is pretty solid, and there are a few tweaks I'd personally make to it to fit a wider array of threats. Thanks for sharing, this definitely gave me some ideas.

I agree with going heavy black then. I have a mono black oona deck that is basically combo. I think making it more aggro would be interesting, and that addition of cards like Laceny and bident of thassa are awesome. Dire Undercurrents is also a card that I would suggest you run, like I do in mine. Now you have me wanting to change up my deck a little.

Dire Undercurrents was the card I couldn't remember the name of. I have been looking everywhere for one and just cannot seem to find it.
Let me know what you decide to change up, happy to inspire haha.

  • posted a message on I'm looking to make an Oona, Queen of the Fae deck with near limitless budget.
    Info:
I have money cards, such as mana drain, force of will, underground sea etc. Instead of a hard control / combo I want it to be more of an aggro / combo deck with things like larceny / bident of thassa and token generators with constant threats of “the combo” at any time. THIS DECK SHOULD BE FUN BUT ALSO COMPETITIVE. My play group is cut-throat. We believe that “having the most fun” means being the most brutal as humanly possible. Most of us are competitive players when it comes to legacy / modern.

    Some things I've already considered:
A couple infinite mana combos to get that easy win from exiling everyone's deck (similar to Azami, Lady of Scrolls, but more consistent because of all the black tutors.
Every black tutor worth running with the exception of Imperial Seal

    Speaking of Azami...
The main reason I want this to be more agro than control is I already have an Azami deck. When I originally started putting the list together I noticed it was pretty much just Azami minus the Mind Over Matter shenanigans, and my Sen Triplets deck with a Fae theme instead of an Artifact one. It was at that point I said I was going to break my comfort zone and try something different.

    With that in mind:
Anyone have any suggestions, or a decent deck list to go off of? Inspiration such as little gems that most people wouldn’t think of is much appreciated.

Hmm, woulda thought it would have been both... But that makes sense. When do we get the official rule changes for this set?

Sorry, don't know that one. I'd assume sometime this week (if they don't already have it somewhere I haven't seen it) seeing as how pre-release is in a week.
