I wanted to posit that in these new mantis-less decks like Todd Anderson's, what are thoughts on switching some number of soulfire for fathom feeder? It's a kill anything on the ground option that can be recurred with OJ's command. It doesn't have *as* much power as recurring a doom/kommand on 7 mana, but it does give the option of holding up dig/ojcommand/fathom on their turn on only 5 mana. Plus surprise recurring it to trade for a big creature is nice, turning your commands into removal+draw a card.

Not running mantis means fetching u/b on turn 1 isn't necessary for doom/mantis on 3. This means fetching or playing a u/w land on turn 1 opens up fetch a swamp on 2 and play fathom feeder, then still have doom on 3 with a mountain, or monastery-->swamp-->plains for the same pattern. Obviously soulfire is great against any aggro decks, but if you are expecting a lot of abzan aggro... or midrange, why not?

So I was looking for a custom playmat and wanted to make one out of time stop.

When I searched for it, I came across this piece of art from these forums, which is an awesome combination of time stop and telling time.

The 400x600 isn't available, so the google images thumbnail is all I have. The person who uploaded it hasn't posted since 2010.

Is there anyway someone could remake this for me at a higher resolution (preferably 3675 x 2175 @ 150 PPI for inkedplaymats)?

I'd appreciate it very much if anyone could or send me in the right direction.

    Thanks

A similar deck was on daily mtg and focused on scrying so that you could reliably flash in the dictate then upkeep riddle them for the game.

I'd run two athreos for protection against verdicts, but four makes him a dead card. He's a card you will almost never want multiples of in hand, because the enchantment hate you will see will more often than not be deicide.

I feel like control will either destroy this or go to time, because they can easily outheal an athreos and a few creatures swinging in by the time he gets active. They'll out dsphere/light you eventually by countering one and then it's an easy verdict/aetherling to victory.

I would add in grim guardians to give you a very legitimate secondary win con. With athreos out, verdict no longer slows you down, but adds a ton of fuel to your gameplan.

I found that a white splash for boros charms was the best possible iteration of this deck. Get rid of most of the counters and run more burn instead, with mizzium skins to protect your relevant creatures (snipes, pyros, chimera). Boros charms give you so much reach and power that they are ridiculous. Protects your creatures with indestructibility, turns your chimera from 9 damage to an alpha swing, and extends the reach of your burn by so much.

Despite that though, I don't think that the deck is really competitive even at FNM. Vs Aggro this deck runs pretty well because it can so easily remove small creatures. But with all aggro decks, you still have a chance at losing because you can't stabilize fast enough and their small creatures will be slightly more consistent. Vs midrange you don't have the removal enough to deal with creatures bigger than 3 toughness, 4 turn/burn just doesn't cut it. If they ramp into anything, they race better than you can. Vs monoblack and orzhov variants, they have too many threats, too much removal, too much control, and too much everything else. They underworld you out in the long game, killing you with either packrats or desecration demons in the meantime. The deck does handle packrats quite well though.

Post sideboard the deck has a great matchup against control if you run a sideboard of 15 counters, 4 gainsay, 4 dispel, 4 negate, 3 syncopate, etc.

I hate to say it but since JOU didn't give izzet anything good (keranos is too slow for the rest of the deck to work with) you are better off playing a different deck. I splashed america a bit harder with lucky charms for a bit (boros+azorius charms+reckoner to infinite lifegain yourself) but ended up in an america control deck that I'm pretty happy with, and I still get to sideboard in ral zarek and niv mizzet and get some of that cool izzet feeling.

biovisionary says "beginning of the end step" but so does twinflame. If you have to exile your copies made by twinflame when the biovisionary checks to see if you've won, do you still win?

    How does that interaction work?

How many significant Instants are being released? None so far? (75 known cards) sigh... it looks like Wx Heroic for me... C'mon WotC we need some Izzet love! I need one good/decent draw spell and one good/decent burn spell, that's all, really. For Standard and Limited.

Spite of Mogis is R deal damage to target creature equal to the number of instants and sorceries in your graveyard scry 1. Definitely a 3-4 of for izzet burn decks as another answer to big creatures where before we only had turn/burn. Also has scry 1 tacked on.

If the snakes had an ability that made them count towards devotion, it might be interesting. As is she either needs a few constellations with sick effects to make her worth it, or she's just a really bad ooze.

Totally agree. I think Keranos has his place in WRU control in standard though. I also want to try him in a RUG build.

You have no real win con. Hoping that Keranos wins it through the attrition draw, or that you get thassa+jace+ral+keranos out because those are your only permanents and you need all of them to activate either god for damage, can work, but it's really kind of a bad plan. The times you'll get all four of those out and about will be rare.

It doesn't seem like you have enough control against big creatures either, since you only have 4 turn and burns to control big creatures.

But they specify the gods to one color seeded pack then? So going black doesn't net you a chance for pharika and athreos and going red doesn't net you the chance for both iroas and keranos?

Does Ajani fall under any of the seeded packs then?

Does a white seeded pack have a better chance of getting iroas/ajani?
