    Hi all,

I'm trying to come up with a "well-done" (pun intended) pauper burn deck...

So far, I've seen several variants that have kiln fiend and keldon marauders, but I also saw many variants that don't main board any creatures at all. I personally, thought that the creatureless archetype was more direct, but I disliked how most of these lacked flexibility and tended to lose momentum.

With this premise in mind, I tried to see the best way to abuse some of the best red draw spells; faithless looting and dangerous wager. The first card that came to mind was fiery temper, a staple for many madness/discard decks. However, taking this one step further, I think that the addition of flame burst, kindle, and pardic firecat can serve as wonderful targets for the discard portion of faithless looting and dangerous wager, as drawing more of these later in the game will only maintain a quick tempo.

With this in mind, I think that the following list overall will keep a mana curve very close to 1 for most burn and 2 or 3 for most combos needed (i.e. lightning bolt + faithless looting --> fiery temper discarding whatever..):

    4xLightning Bolt
    4xChain Lightning
    4xFaithless Looting
    4xIncinerate
    4xFlame Burst
    4xKindle
    4xDangerous Wager
    4xFiery Temper
    4xRift Bolt
    4xPardic Firecat
    4xFireblast
    16xmountain

    Potential sideboard options??
    Pyroblast/Red Elemental Blast
    Martyr of ashes
    Smash to smithereens
    Searing Blaze
    Flame rift/lava spike

In general, one will always cast the fireblast for its alternative cost (usually as a finisher) and usually fiery temper can be casted for its madness cost or full CMC, but the pardic firecat could prove to be a dead card if you can't discard it... This leaves the deck with 3 one-cost burns if you include the early casting of rift bolt. Would it make more sense to have say lava spike directly replace rift bolt, since there is little card advantage or sense in targeting creatures at all?

I hope that this deck is an improvement in one form or another, but please let me know if you have any recommendations on how I can improve this deck. This was my first post so I hope I did things okay, haha. Thank you in advance for the help!! Mad
