Well I hated innistrad drafts and sealed, I just couldn't wrap my head around the cards well enough I guess. AVR was better imo but I always have fun with core sets because well they're basic, none of the innistrad bull****.
When I got back into magic last September. I was going through my collection to see what had gained value and such. I opened an old deckbox and found some g/w deck from ravnica.
3xdoubling seasons
At the time the card was really difficult to find in my area so the 25$ became 30$+ in trades, helped me start back up.
What would have stopped the OP buying a pack of Innistrad, keeping the receipt, and then buying a pack of Dark Ascension the following week and taking a photo to make it look like the receipt was for the DKA pack?

Pretty sure the packs would have different SKUs. And OP should do the receipt plan, it's worth a shot.
Most of the people who steal magic cards from events are opportunists. They aren't career thieves but seeing a pro leave his bag unattended is a pretty awesome opportunity to make an easy 5000+. A lot of people become thieves when people start being stupid and not watching their stuff.
If this was being shuffled by a computer or what not it could be truly randomized. But you are doing more than just randomizing as a human shuffler.
There are things called "local patterns" some shuffles do not randomize those patterns. As such by pile shuffling and then randomizing you are at least making an attempt to break up these local patterns. If you want to call it cheating go ahead, but I want a truly random deck and that is the only way to ensure it.
The sleeves I tend to use only like to pick up black crud on them. So I just give them a wipe after every tourney and they look like new. Dragonshields (old ones) dont crease or rip very easily so they can last a whole tourney.
I bought a pack of fantasy flight for a PTQ sealed and they were marked out of the package haha. Last time I buy cheap sleeves.
If you do decide to buy a box at least draft it or mini master it with some friends. Otherwise you are probably just spending 120$ to open up 50$ worth of actual trade fodder.
I have never been disappointed if I drafted a box, or bought singles. But nothing feels worse than cracking all those packs and not finding anything you want.
This B/G suggestion just made me think of a B/G undying shell I was building, I found it lacking some major win cons outside of vorapede. Maybe undying and glissa would work well with this type of deck.
We could still include the G/U land if tezz is a must, which I think he is. Now I'm not 100% sure about the ruling on this one, but I believe if you cast gnaw to the bone sometime at the end of combat but before it ends; you might be able to catch the undying creatures in the bin. If someone with more rule knowledge could comment on this.
I like this idea, I think the esper or bant decks would be the most powerful. Definitely need to play this as a control/fog style deck. The other decks in the meta are too fast to not have turn 1/2 responses to things like delvers. As such I don't think the inclusion of delvers to be a good idea.
Running a slew of planeswalkers will help with the board control and lifegain in some cases. The Reaver or sphinx (or both if we're feeling frisky) will provide the late game rock we need to survive other big beat based decks. Every other slot should be dedicated to tutoring/life gain/counters/removal. Artifact recursion is important, so is saving your chalice from being nuked. Steel Sabotage and the ruins should be included.
I'm going to build this deck as soon as release rolls around and see how it goes.
I've been moving the dissipates to the board against any faster R/G deck in favor of flashfreezes. They have come in handy many times, as I find wolf run to be a tough match up.
If you are thinking about lavamancer as a board breaker, you should look into molten-tail masticore. Very hard to deal with and can be a game winner if its late enough in the game and you have plenty of mana.

I still think the bant shell is the most powerful but someone could definitely do work with this.
