O great the old "dies to removal" arguement. What do you people want? These cards are good, you people are just spoiled or don't understand development (or magic at all). Ah, who am I kidding no one ever listens anyways.

The vamp rocks. The enchantment can be broken in half like nothing. If you can remove cards from your own graveyard, the randomness suddenly becomes not so random.

Is it just me or has every card spoiled been called crap so far?

I personally have become more annoyed by people who act like vulnerable creatures are going to break standard even though time and time again they don't.

But, this vampire isn't that vulnerable. Against many decks, he is actually pretty immune to removal.

Not accepting the profiteering bull**** of a corporation is "entitlement" now

    top lel

    Hasbro is a business.
    They have a product.
They expect to be paid for their product.
People want it play their product for free. And why wouldn't they?
But unfortunately, that product legally cannot be replicated without Hasbro permission.
If you made up your own cards and put them on cockatrice, that would be fine. But you are using a copyrighted product, which you are expected to pay for.
Hasbro has surely done research and determined that they are losing money because people are playing their product for free.
It's business. You can refuse to accept it about it all you want, but it doesn't make you correct.
You may feel like you deserve to play magic online for free, but unfortunately, there's a good chance the legal system will disagree.

I'm pretty sure if Gideon's only ability was to literally come out of the card, kick you in the nuts, then have sex with your girlfriend, people would still be trying to play it because it's Gideon.

He's not good. Instead I recommend getting excited about an actual good card like clan defiance.

    Except:
    1)Shaman isn't Legendary.
    2)Produces R and G, not just R.
    3) Produces it Immediately. Unlike Radha, you get immediate benefit, which makes ALL the diference (wasting a turn 2 on a bear as opposed to getting a bear and being able to do other stuff like cast a farseek).

Well, obviously each card is going to have advantages over the other. They're different types of cards. But that's not what I was saying. I'm trying to say they're similar in that they both seem like they're going to do cool things, but when you actually play them, they're underwhelming.

The problem alot of people are making is they are assuming you will jsut cast her and pass turn, which is retarded. For alot of the decks she would fit, they would already just play Lighting mauler or farseek. By throwing her in, you have the added benefit of being able to do 2 thigns that one turn rather than one. She allows you put in board presence while also mana ramping (farseek).

Ideally you want to do that, but what happens when you don't have a lightning mauler or farseek in your hand? It's a grizzly bear. It's just that, at best you're getting a "free" 2/2 on turn 2. Which isn't bad. But you don't want your aggressive creatures to have to rely on other cards being in your hand to not be terrible.

I like cipher, meh on Battalion, Love everything else. Orzhov practically forces you to race them because you won't beat a mechanic that turns 1 and 2 drops into 10 12 or 14 points of life swing(gain/lose 5, 6 and 7 respectively) lategame. I LOVE the potential that extort has.

Yeah, I guess I'll play with the mechanics before judging them too harshly. Extort could be pretty cool in limited.

But so far, there's no cards that really have me rattling for deck ideas right now. Sort of seems like a lot of limited filler has been spoiled, even though we have a lot or rates and mythical.

But....spoiler season is still young. Smile

The shaman will most definetely see play. If nothing else, being able to play a 2/2 and farseek on turn 2 for jund or naya is amazing.

Sorry, I don't see him being played. A grizzly bear is just insignificant in constructed. It reminds me a lot of Radha, Heir to Keld. Pretty, and has possibilities, but still a grizzly bear in the end.

I thin people are going to be pretty dissapointed with evolve once they start playing with it. Champion of the Parish keeps getting bigger all game in the right deck. This one usually ends up being a 3/3, depending on the deck.

I beg to differ. Sure, a "free" 2/2 by itself is weak, but it triggers Champion (Parish and Lambholt), Hellrider and Lightning Mauler.

Similar cards in the past have been ineffective (Priest of Urabrask and Coal Stoker) but I feel this one has a shot in a Standard deck since it comes down earlier, hence it also starts attacking earlier and triggering more stuff.

I'd recommend trying it then, that's the beauty of MTG. My opinion doesn't make it any less good. Smile

That being said, I feel as though creatures are too efficient these days for a 2/2 on turn 2. Now, it does add mana, but it can only be used during the right situations. If you have a lightning mauler in your hand, it's pretty efficient, but even then, you're left with two fairly inefficient bodies. If you don't have something else good to play, you're left with a grizzly bear, and that doesn't cut it in constructed unfortunately.

The cards spoiled so far are only good for limited, except MAYBE the boros one drop with battalion.

Yeah, and I generally don't really care how good a card is in limited, because I'm just as likely to open a good card than my opponents. I care more about them being fun or skill-intensive.

I like cipher, and evolve is okay, but even for limited, the rest of the mechanics are pretty bland.

While I do love a repeatable lightning helix, this card can be a bit overkill, which leaves you susceptible to mass removal.

I feel like I'm going to be thinking that about a lot of boros cards.

Nice art. Great in limited. Not strong enough for constructed.

Don't kid yourselves, this is not a constructed viable card. It's a pretty card, but it's really nothing special.

Maybe it's just me, but I find these cards kind of underwhelming. None of them are very powerful for constructed, and, outside of cipher, the mechanics are kind of boring.

And I'm usually the first one to be excited about a set.

I've been working on this for a while so please give me some honest criticism. Nah, nevermind, I'm not going to actually care about what you guys say, because my deck is perfect as it is.

As much as I hate with a fiery passion running more than 2 colours I went with BRG. BR seems great but just didn't fill it out and the extra green seemed cool enough.

Nothing to feel bad about here. With 3 in-color gates and a keyrune, going GBR is going to be pretty flawless.

And I don't think there's a good argument for any other color combination.
