pile a is mine
- i already have an inquisition if i need it for singleton formats
- i'd like to complete my playset of brain in a jar
- this would be my second undoing, also want a playset
the question is, that will inquisition stabilize in the 9-10 range, or will start to rise again?
i have drafted the set and it is really nice, and also being not limited, more packs will be opened later
what do you think of this card - Padeem, Consul Of innovation?
"at the begining of your upkeep if you control the artifact (preferably creature) with the highest converted mana cost, or tied for the highest converted mana cost, and you are a mono-blue tron player, you are already winning"
2 Liliana, the Last Hope, keep or sell?
seems she's here to stay for a long time at the current price, coz it's really good
also need mentioning, that i'm planning on getting back into standard with the release of Kaladesh, if there are good card for a homebrew UBx control deck, but mainly playing modern and draft.

Choose target creature. You get EEE (three energy counters), then you may pay any amount of E. Harnessed Lightning deals that much damage to that creature.
interesting card from a game mechaninc perspective, since you chose the amount of energy you pay as part of spell resolution, you can almost always have the upper hand:
- if yoou play on opponents turn, he's forced to waste a pump spell to save the creature, otherwise it's dead. in this case you baited a pump spell and generated energy
- same as previous, but gives indestructible, you baited a card and generated energy
- you can cast it against 1-toughtness creature, and if the opponent does not pump the creature, you can just pay 1 energy and kill the crature
- if opponent pumps, and you have leftover energy, you cann effectively 2-for-1
You have to keep in mind that DTT was only legal for 3 months and not many people played it. Most of the influential people (cbgirardo, shok, etc) didn't like it and I didn't have the same kind of reputation back then. I remember 1-2 other people giving it a try but that's it. So since there wasn't so much testing it's hard to say if the card ever realised its full potential. It was also banned right when Ugin became legal, so we never got to put both if these together which would've been awesome imo.
At first I played 3 copies but that was always for testing purposes to see the card more often. I ended up playing 2 in my "final" list. This is what I played at the time:
You didn't need fetches and it wasn't a big deal to pay 2UU for DTT. "Look at 7 take 2" is extremely strong and you would often take the last missing tron piece + threat or threat + counterspell or whatever else you needed. Once I hit 6 lands 1 map that was annoying... but to be honest I would've lost that game if I didn't have DTT because of 7 dead draws in a row.
i played a lot DTT in my dimir control deck, in standard, and there it was crucial, that you had fetches in graveyard.
fetches, just to fuel delve, not really for fixing
too bad people broke Trasure Cruise so much, it got DTT banned...
once i saw a blue-red burn-aggro deck in action... turn 2-3 Digs all around...
UU is not so hard, the problem us hitting UUU or UUUU
When I was playing Dig Through Time I never struggled to cast it... I did struggle sometimes to protect it because I didn't have UUU or UUUU
i was always curious how did this deck fare with Dig, as i didn't play modern back then
was 4-of?
did you play fetches?
pile B:
a BUNCH of cards, for example quirky commander cards, missing standard rare duals, some foils for collection.
it would be a HEAVY downtrade for me, which i can afford this time, as i usually uptrade, but i'm interested mostly in the possibilities of Collective Defiance outside of standard
Without knowing which cards you're getting we really have no idea on how to speculate. If you'd give us a list we could help give our opinions on speculations of cards.
Is that right? It's REALLY helpful if you can post the exact trade (or even "A, B, C, and some junk filler for D, E, and some junk filler" - don't feel the need to list every fifty-cent rare if you're sure it's jank, but as you've posted it I'm not even 100% certain which side of this trade gets the Top).
Collective Defiance looks like a pretty solid card for Nekusar EDH, so I wouldn't count on it crashing if it doesn't pan out in Standard.
Defiance is $7, Arena won't go below the $2.50 it's at now, Hangarback also seems like it's at a low, at $2. SDT is, we'll say, $17. I like getting in on Pile A right now, but by the numbers Pile B is just way better - it's almost twice as much. Pile A has some serious catching up to do, even if we do expect those cards to go up a bit. I take the Top.
i am giving A for B
we draft a lot, and chances of me getting a defiance is much higher.
hangarback was printed in event deck
arena maybe has some hype because of alternate artwork
Inventor's Fair is essentially a Fabricate that can be held on to and can be tapped for mana before you need to crack it. I'd say it's better than Sanctum of Ugin because it lets you fetch a threat without having to have one already to begin with. And since it's an activated ability rather than a cast spell, I think it's better than Fabricate as well in that sense because it is more difficult to counter.
I like it. It also lets you leave blue mana untapped so you can cast your other blue spells as well since it can be optimally activated with 2 Tronlands.
i run the non-talisman version, and rarely have more than 2 artifacts on the board.
also, i don't really need more non-U source in my deck
sad thing is, that RG-tron will actually benefit from this (as if they don't have enough tutors already), they just don't crack the stars and maps for example.
could also be very useful in lantern-control.
i just don't see it to be viable at all in u-tron.

wreckage can be actually useful, in counter wars and grind.
