posted a message on [New Info] Magic panel at San Diego comic-con 2014

White is much more realistic than blue when we have the knowledge that Dragons are dead. White has far more to do with any Resurrection that is being speculated and it also upholds any leadership values we can speculate on with the set having some level of organized armies.

We also know that Ramaz is much more fitting for Temur based on the info available about him.

Did you have to quote me before I could edit out that stupid typo? :p

Anyway, I do not see blue as the most likely candidate for Sarkhan, but it is still more likely than white. Resurrection of the dragons is, for one, pure speculation. It is also not really in white's color pie - white tends to resurrect smaller creatures, which would get Sarkhan only a few eggs and whelps. Mechanically, he'd get better results from black and from green. Also, if the story is about getting the dragons back, there are more ways to do that than just resurrection. There is no need for Sarkhan to go white in opposition to his philosophy.

Sarkhan's clam of origin is, since he started out as RG, most likely Temur, also supported by quotes by him. If he is three-colored in KTK, he quite possibly could return as a Temur mythic. He could also return as a UR or RG walker. The image we were shown of him didn't seem as maddened as he had been previously, so I would discount BR. He's almost certainly not white - there is nothing white about Sarkhan and his philosophy.

Why was wrath not in THS block? Art and flavor text includes Heliod.

For one, the card, art and all, did not spring forth from MaRo's temple fully formed before Theros block existed, as appropriate as that imagery might be. :p Wizards often prints cards with creative elements from "older" blocks, after all, sometimes very quickly.
As mentioned, they also wants to keep the amount of "can't be regenerated" low, as well as that of viable mass destruction. Finally, while art and flavor may fit, the name still doesn't - Heliod is not, contrary to his apparent delusions of grandeur, the god of Theros, but only one of 14/15.

Weird. Why does the Champion make you reveal the tutored card? It's ending up on the battlefield anyway for everyone to see.

The real question is, WHY would the card have a phone number on the back? If it's a cube draft set, are they forcing people to sleeve the whole thing up in colored sleeves before it can be drafted? And if this is the fall multiplayer set, in place of Commander 2014, why would the phone number be operational already?

The real cards won't have numbers on the back, of course. The Magister that was found was essentially an ad card. Also, this is the summer special set, a la Modern Masters/Planechase.

I have trouble getting to a template where it would be completely clear that hybrid should only be counted once - even Rakath's template above doesn't do it for me. All signs point to hybrids being counted double, as far as I can see. That said, I expect the template to look something like this:

As long as your total devotion to black and
to red is less than seven, Mogis isn't a
creature. (Each {B} and each {R} in the mana
costs of permanents you control counts toward
your devotion to black or red, respectively.)

It's pretty much one line longer than the template the major gods use, which would also explain the absence of an activated ability

I do not recall reading such article.

Neither do I. Nor does Google. They did say that there are five minor gods in each of the small sets, but nothing about the color mix I can find. And Wizards is quite clearly moving away from the model of ally-color first, enemy-color second. I'm 90% sure it'll be a mix of enemy-color and ally-color in each set, with each single color represented twice. I'm not sure if we should expect XenaGod in Born of the Gods, though - while his ascension may happen there chronologically, the big bad battle seems to be slated for Journey into Nyx, and that would be just as good a spot to put him.

It's unique enough that I wasn't counting it as a mechanic. But, assuming it's out, the list of Future Shifted cards that a) Don't have a keyword mechanic and b) Do something that hasn't been done anywhere except on a Future Sight card is pretty short. I'm also assuming the reprinted Future Sight card is one of the ones featuring that thing. So... Spellweaver Volute perhaps?

The hint was a) a Future Sight card, and the set does something only done on another Future Sight card. So, the FS reprint does not do what the other FS card (by now almost certainly Lucent Liminid, enchantment creatures) does.

Did anyone attempt the transcription of the narration?

This is the best I can come with:

I think that's mostly correct. Where you have "something ominous lurks", I kind of hear "something ominous gnaws", (but lurks would seem to make more sense) and I think it's "oracles foresee disaster" rather than disasters.

So how does this work with Martial Glory?

It's technically only one spell, but you're selecting 2 targets.

One token. It's one spell targeting the Crusader. How often it is targeted by that spell is irrelevant.

Creature type Nymph? That's kind of awkward, considering that Dryads started out as Nymphs. Surely we're neither errataing all existing Dryads to Nymphs nor to Dryad Nymphs. Wizards aren't that afraid of low-use creature types, four more Nymph types wouldn't have hurt that much.

They aren't making any real attempts to hype this set, are they?

At PAX east, they showed us Sigarda and Resto. Modern playable flying beatsticks.

PAX prime? Enjoy your limited trash! At least the 1/1 red dude that makes more 1/1 red dudes is kind of cool. I can play a dynacharge deck at casual FNM, wooo.

There's still the PAX Party and the Worldbuilding panel coming. These are just appetizers, in all likelihood.

There's only seven nonbasic land slots. What.

I'm PRETTY SURE Wizards said they'd stop with the FREAKING FIVE CARD LAND CYCLES. THIS IS MY ANGRY VOICE. blargh.

For one, the crunching of gold/artifact/land is speculation for now. For two, in all likelihood, the lands will not all be in a single set, to avoid that a good 1/5th of the set's rares are lands - rather they'll be in the first and second set, or possibly divided over the whole block. I think one of the mods said so, in fact.

    And this is a proof

Did I give the impression that I was trying to prove it fake with my earlier posts? I was only trying to provide some grounds for a better, more informed discussion than the tired old screams of Real! and Fake! I mean, yes, I was sceptical, but I didn't think that I presented the card number thing as proof, only as evidence.

So Gift is 14/249. That most likely means that Hypatia at 9/249 is fake (we have had errors in set numbers before, but only rarely).

He's talking about the inside of the white mana symbol. Either way, photographs can easily drop details like that - the lower the quality, the easier - but even an adequate photograph might not have the faint division between the sunrays and the center.
