I'm counting on Dominaria to give us some sexy vermin...
Rat Colony
1B
Creature - Rat
Rat Colony gets +1/+0 for each other Rat you control.
A deck can have any number of cards named Rat Colony.
All is right in the multiverse.
I might very well make the swap. The toughness will be a drag, but I've struggled to hit BB on more than one occasion. I like the extra tribal boost too.
The safest thing to buy would be the thing that has just been reprinted/announced. These are likely going g to be at a low point price-wise, anc are the least likely to be reprinted again in the next year or so.
The cards you guys listed are perhaps the most "due" for a reprint (and a price plunge), and the least safe to buy or hold.
Now that CFB is supporting Paper Pauper with the mtgo cardpool, perhaps paper Pauper is becoming less casual and closer to being officially sanctioned?
I do find it ironic that people think a banned list in inappropriate in casual when all races, mythics, and uncommon are being effectively banned, back in the day (before EDH) most people I knew respected the Vintage B&R list for 60 card casual (eg, no multiple Sol Rings). Only a few casual players seemed interested in "anything goes".
For me the most important thing they could do to improve MTG is to support Legacy. This means addressing the RL, as well as changing Standard so new players are no longer coddled and protected from "unfun" interactions.
Also, make Pauper (Legacy-Lite) a sanctioned and supported format too.
I don't mean to be spiteful, Colt. I am (foolishly?) holding out for a slim hope that WotC addresses the RL this year. Seems lime the time to do it. I don't want to go into detail and derail your thread - but I am trying to be positive, not negative.
Also, I think think you were goading us by asking for exactly 10 cards! At least I didn't say P9 + Library.
It's too soon to know for sure, but the primary reason Conspiracy 2 is still floating around is due to the Conspiracies having zero value outside of draft.
Conspiracies can be fun in Cube. But the demand is low, so the cards have almost no trade value. I agree it will be nice to have a supplementary set not tainted as such.
I agree, bypassing Standard is the best way to make new Legacy/Vintage and Modern cards but I am not entirely sure stuffing those into a draft set is the best way to go about it (the same way I was never sold on doing the same thing with Commander sets).
I'm pretty sure every set is a draft set nowadays.
Edit - by "set", I mean booster products not precons.
Without wanting to dampen the mood on the pauper hype train, that’s not really true. You can’t assemble a competitive pauper deck with leftovers.
Like the other non-rotating formats, you need the format staples, and those won’t cost pennies and won’t be forgotten in the LGS bins.
Important point to the health and longevity of the format.
All formats become more expensive as they pick up steam. But evidence has shown people will flock to a good non-rotating format even if it costs a bit of money. It's only when the entry cost becomes prohibitively large that growth begins to stagnate.
Pauper is miles away from the cost of Standard or Modern; and has more of an "old school" feel as well, being a true eternal format. This makes it a great alternative for people who don't care for the Modern meta and/or prices. Legacy is reaching a critical mass where buying in is out of reach for the majority. 1-on-1 EDH is similarly expensive, and not even that popular. For most people, Pauper is the only option for competitive eternal MTG. I think it will go far (and I am planning on building a deck or 2 myself).
Denying Channel
Land t: Add 1 to your mana pool. 2UU, Discard Denying Channel:
Counter target spell.
I'm still sour over this. I would so love to run this in Legacy RUG Lands. But we can't have good utility lands or counter spells; only OP aggro/control creatures.
This formats redeeming value comes from lots of cheap decks that are fun to play. Take out the cheap part and the decks are not "fun enough 'too warrent that kind of price.
I don't know. To me, this looks like the next best thing to Legacy in terms of fun decks. I can't imagine it will become anywhere near as expensive.
Question, what does the cardpool look like for paper? Do we use only cards that are legal online? What about cards like Maze or Stinkhole that were common in paper but not online? Or old commons that were never printed online at all?

Broken Bond
1G
Sorcery
Destroy target artifact or enchantment. You may put a land card from your hand onto the battlefield.

Printed at expedition rarity, of course.

Sorry, I genuinely have no idea what you are saying here. Can you please elaborate? Which statement makes my argument "look bad" and why?
My argument, for the record, is that all boosters are intended for multiple audiences. This has been more or less explicitly stated.
2HG is the intended format for limited play. I do not think that means the cards are not intended to have any other applications.
I'm pretty sure every set is a draft set nowadays.

Now red is lacking both LD and rituals. Way to gut the game, WotC.

Is there an established consensus for paper?
Gilded Lotus worked nicely.
