I know that no one runs Karn, I have been playing the deck for a while now. I think that this way you are more of a control deck, You will go the long game with Control decks and that is just when you search for Emrakul, and for delver you act like the deck right now stands a chance. The only chance for the deck right now is that you get o stone, not really that reliable. I understand that this deck is looking for 2 pieces. 1 Being painter servant and 1 being ugin/hibernation makes it kind of slow. I think that painter plus either of those put you ahead. Cast hibernation at the end of someones turn making them discard and being able to play a land first could lead to a turn 3 Karn among other things as well as ugin going down and minusing 0 to exile everything leaving you with a ugin in play. I don't know. I will test it out and probably hate it lol
I don't feel like supreme verdict is hard to cast in the slightest. You have 4 signets for a reason. You could have colonade 2 tron lands and signet out and have verdict mana. I think it is easy to cast but maybe that's just my opinion.
Yes they are both worth it. Sphinx's Rev will save you a lot of the time.
Supreme Verdict is worth it because if you need a wrath but you have gifts in your hand, You can gifts and get Wrath wrath wrath any card, it is worth it to have 3 wraths. On top of that, they all have little things that make them better in certain situations. Lets talk about if you went Wrath, Day, Path, Snap. You are on turn 4 against Affinity and need to wipe the board. You go get Wrath, Day, Path, Snap. They just give you path and snap and now you need 2 more mana to get a wrath effect out. On top of snap + wrath, you lose a snapcaster which can be a beater/blocker for later turns. It would be better in situations like this just to have 3 wraths.
I also do the same thing with O-ring effects. Lets say they have a very annoying plains walker, enchantment, or artifact. Well I can gifts getting O-ring, Banishing Light, Detention Sphere, filler. This ensures I get rid of the annoying thing.
I am currently trying to trade for 1 karakas and 1 misty. Karakas will replace the Academy ruins and I will add a single misty. I will probably take out 2 Trinisphere for 2 Island/Forest
The reason why they are not used is because we are more of a toolbox deck. We are not just searching for big stuff, we have tutors for that. We need talismans for ramp.
What is everyone's opinion on All is Dust. I think it would be a great board whip. I feel like that is what this build is missing. I know that you can run O stone. But that is 8 mana instead of 7, I know there is a down side to sacking a Trinket/Treasure mage also.
Is anyone actually playing this in tourney and what not? I want to know what everyone is thinking about the deck. I don't want to be developing this on my own haha
1. I run 3 Misty, 3 Tarn. I would run 4 Tarn and 2 Misty, but I don't have it and I feel like I am only fetching blue ever anyway.
2. I run 1 Rakdos's Return main. It clears the path for Cruel Ultimatum a lot. Playing a Rakdos's Return then next turn Cruel Ultimatum is probably my favorite part of the deck.
Has anyone tried Grixis Charm in this deck? I feel like it would do to many things not to have it. I have not tested it yet but it seems good. I don't know how viable a turn 3 Charm is though.
