So this means that Mana Crypt is no longer super banned in Legacy only normal banned. Well there goes the piece of random trivia.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about this is how the card pool of Legacy is currently officially defined.
Legacy decks may consist of cards from all Magic card sets, plus the following cards: Sewers of Estark, Windseeker Centaur, and Nalathni Dragon (Mana Crypt would also be included were it not currently banned – see below).

Let's also recall that, while he was not the head designer, MaRo was on the design team of New Phyrexia, the set that introduced Phyrexian mana. That's right, MaRo was on the design team that created the highest number of cards that violate the color pie in the modern era of Magic. Dismember (allowing any color to have removal), Metamorph (allowing any color clone effects), Mental Misstep (allowing any color counter magic), etc. So MaRo is just as guilty as any other design member for bleeding the color pie, but is more hypocritical than the rest for claiming that the rest of the designers need to tighten it up.

Those (save Dismember) are no more color pie violation then every artifact ever printed are. If you haven't noticed every card with Phyrexian mana that could be a artifact without causing rules problems is (aka only Permanent cards). There are few bad card, but just a few, and they were because their effects weren't in the artifact slice of the "color"-pie (which is a lot less defined then other color's slices).

    What's wrong with you people?

Just attach this onto your own Herald of Leshrac. Nobody else gets lands for the rest of the game.

You can't half pay costs and an age count is added every turn whether you pay or not, so they will have some land, but it's still a nasty combo.

It's fine. I am going to run it in a few of my green deckcs because my meta is very nonbasic heavy. Dovetails nicely into Winter Orb or Hokori. Dust Drinker as well. Smile Green has needed a big dumb sweeper forever, every colour has one or two (Blue = Upheaval (Banned)Kedrekt Leviathan, Black = Pox effects, all sorts of wrath variants, Red = Jokulhaups variants, White = All the sweepers) so no harm in giving Green a little push.

It's fine as long a colorless deck isn't at the table. But againts one there's no other card ever printed can compare to the unfairness of this cards. And the clostest cards you can name are all very narrow, this (as you comment proves) in not narrow.

Unless by "shrug it off" you mean concede and never play again that a horrible person again, "shrugging it off" isn't possible. Nothing else ever printed is even close to what this does a colorless Commander Deck. Before this the only card that would destroy both a player's mana base and board did it equally to everyone. There are only ten nine card that can survive this thing all cost 7 mana or more and one is an aura.
Edit: Forgot it kills Enchantments too.

I like how it doesn't hit creatures (as green doesn't). This is a card to further advance your board position without necessarily being win more.

I think the only reason to not like this is you don't like people interacting with your board position, which I am a huge fan of. If you overextend without counter backup, you have earned this card wiping your board.

I guesssing you never heard of Karn, as that's the only way to justify your comment.

spunit, it's green in that it goes into green decks. It has nothing to do with the color pie, because any burn spell is almost automatically tagged as a red card. It's just that R/x decks don't want it and G/x decks do. The card is best when you can (a) reliably have big creatures on board and (b) reliably have plenty of mana. G. That's the optimal way to use Crater's Claws in my mind. I'm sure someone with try it in Big Red and probably fail.

Ok, When you put it that way I can agree with what you're saying.

No. the Temur Watermark is on Icefeather Aven
The sultai symbol is on Kheru Spellthief and it's a mono blue with morph.

    Creature type.
Temur is the only U/G clan with Avens and Sultai is the only clan with Nagas period.

Oh, I understand you gain flexibility with X spells, I've played them many times before, but for red decks that flexibility is not as important as the mana-to-damage ratio, especially considering you need to combo this with big creatures which red doesn't usually have by itself. I tried to make it clear that the main idea of my post was that this is not a "red" spell, it's more of a green one with a R symbol.
And, of course, Blaze itself is not playable in Standard...

Huh??? What iota of this card is even the tiniest bit green???

    In any case...

Will WBG be called Junk or Abzan in the future?

... I vote for junk so far.
My vote is likely to change once we see the charm.

I dunno, is there anyone still calls Bant "Sunscape"?

How many people even call it that in the first place? I only started 3 years ago but I think I would have heard of the old ark names at least once if they were even half as populare a Junk.

Birds are still birds, while the "human" form birds could be a creature type for themself.

    ...

So theres a lot of creature types that dont exist, but "could".

It still only makes sence for the most basic types if you really must distinct them.

Dont just make "naga" for no reason, and Naga should really be snakes, the same way Leonin are Cats.

Its also a kick in the nuts for any Kamigawa "snake" tribe synergy ; and for that reason alone they should be snakes allready.

Should Gorgons and Harpies be Snakes and Birds too?
Animale folk only get a unique name if that name is already well known in fatasy. (Viashino is grandfathered in).
Conversly if they have a well known name they go they get that as their type.

Another gold card with no watermark, this time with Zurgo in the art and being quoted. So strange.

I think Icefeather Aven has the Temur watermark because Sultai doesn't have any aven. Wounder if a Izzet aven would get a watermark.

if you're gonna make topics for official spoilers, please use appropriate titles. why is this junk? it's a reasonably costed creature and above the curve. it can serve in different archetypes. this and end hostilities is brutal.

Junk is the old name for BGW. And if Azban doesn't get it's act together and start impressing it will continue being the name. The only ranking this card isn't a F on is Power level.
