Oct 2, 2016cml73264 posted a message on The Magic Market Index for September 29, 2016I use mainly Chrome. Could it be that I use the MTGDark skin instead of light? I mentioned something similar when this first came out and that wasn't initially considered then.Posted in: Articles

Oh come on. I think exhuming it's dead grandmother is exaggerating just a smidgen. But up to that point, sure. This was entertaining though, you win.
If we have Counterspell at common, I could see Chainer's back at uncommon. I would think they would want more straight up black removal than just Murder.
After some Googling I am estimating that P3k had about 40000-50000 of each uncommon printed. In order to double this supply they will need to print 200,000+ booster boxes. That doesn't sound too unreasonable.
Edit: Forgot to mention the red part...
Staxy cards usually like crucible. Pox, Death Cloud, Smallpox etc.
Also be careful with how many non swamps you include if you rely heavily on Cabal. You may be tutoring that one up frequently, but can't always count on Urborg.
The Valentine's Mini Announcement stated "Each Signature Spellbook will contain one premium foil and eight cards that fit with the Planeswalker's identity."
Certainly only sounds like one foil card.
Booster packs have 10-11 commons in them depending on tip cards, basic lands, foils etc. It may just be 10 at all...I'm actually not sure.
If you have 10 per pack and 36 packs in a box that is 360 commons divided by 70 commons is 5.1 average. Now I am fairly certain the commons are not randomized the same way as maybe rares are plus there is just expected deviation. You may get 3 of one and 9 of another.
As an aside, on a larger set like Kaladesh with 101 commons, you can expect an average of 3.6 of each common (360/101=3.56). This matches the numbers you mentioned.
All that said not sure why extra commons is a reason not to buy a booster box. I can list a bunch of other reasons not to, but this doesn't seem like it would ever be a consideration.
I totally didn't realize they reprinted Innocent Blood in Explorers of Ixalan till just now.
Edit: Also confused about it's legality until I remembered that Explorers is that weird board game and not the first set in the block...
In those same 25 cards you would need to see 3 artifacts to play and turn on metal craft. 100/25 = 4. 4x3 cards needed is 12. Make it 3x5 to cover some variance and you get 15 artifacts. Obviously this is extremely rough estimations but I think it should give a rough idea of what to shoot for.
The deck will dictate some of the assumptions. I figured 25 cards since you are including blue and will likely have at least some draw and filtering. If you want metalcraft turned on more quickly you will need to have more artifacts as well. If you are in competitive and fast games or slower longer games are also factors to consider.
