Ajani Vengeant already has the lightning helix affect at -2 so if it matters to you that's it has been used before, Warleader's Helix or some other variation might be better.

As for the Ultimate, what about a more Shamanistic take to it. The idea being instead of bringing the dead back to life, it's like using the spirits of the dead (they remain dead) to fight for you again.

-7: All creature cards in graveyards can attack your opponents as though they were on the battlefield and gain haste for this turn

i currently use Obzedat as my cleric commander - just feels out of place. Though there is some life gain in the deck, there's a lot of times I'd just as soon not cast him in the game. I'd rather just put the council in my Oloro deck and have someone else run the b/w deck.

"new friend" ugh. I just want a cleric/rebel bw general - don't really need blinky life-gain shenanigans.

I highly doubt the information is correct. To me it looks like the information is based on the specific cards and units seen in the few photos available. I have a hard time believing they would make an expansion that didn't have enough units and cards for the new planeswalkers to use themselves. I get the idea of mixing and matching with the core set and look forward to building my own decks, but I hate the idea that the only way I can have a Kiora or Ob deck is to pull cards from Liliana/NIssa/Jace and then not be able to use those 3 because their cards are in other decks. I would need at last 2 core sets or 2+ expansions just to be able to play Ob and Liliana together. That just sounds like horrible planning. If that is indeed the case...thanks but no thanks WotC

I'm confused. So there are only 3 black squads, 2 green and 1 blue...for the black and the blue/green planeswalkers? So you have to mix and match other squads from the core? what if you want to play liliana and ob?

Also the description on the preorder from amazon says "Includes 2 Planeswalker figures, 3 hero figures, 11 squad figures, 15 spell cards, 9 army cards..." So there's the 2 planeswalkers (kiora and ob), and 3 heroes? The eldrazi titian and...are the white and blue figures "heroes"?

I have to say it is rather impressive that WotC can still keep information from being leaked. 5 weeks out (and a day), nothing but the original release info. Hope it's worth the wait.

    Zedruu the Greathearted
    Desolation Giant

If I cast the giant, not paying the kicker, and then with the ability to destroy all my creatures on the stack, activate Zedruu's donate ability and give it to another player what happens? do I lose my creatures or the player who inherited the giant and why does it work that way?

Cmndr Emblem sounds sweet - it's interesting to note that Chris Tulach from D&D was a designer on the set. So perhaps they really are stretching the commander position and pushing it towards other forms of fantasy gaming.

going back to the "New cards offer new play options, and experience counters will make your commander grow in power during the course of each game", I'm really curious what these will be. I wonder if it will be something similar to the level up where a commander will have an additional bonus if it's been cast before. Similar to the lieutenant ability but expansive. Like if WR gave creatures first strike on second time casting commander, double strike for thrid time casting, and maybe had an Elesh Norn type affect casting forth and beyond. Basically a build up to an ultimate like PW do.

At the start of this year I took apart all of my decks for a massive overhaul and to build all of the decks I intend to maintain. The goal was to have this completed by the beginning of September (family reunion - want decks available by then) and to have 1 deck of each mono and two-color combination, and 2 decks of each three-color combination and 2 rainbow colored decks. A total of 38 decks. Currently working on deck number 30 Karador, Ghost Chieftain. After this I will still need my second Jund,Naya,Bant,Jeskai,Mardu,Temur and the 2 rainbows left.

I wouldn't base it's usefulness solely on how i could use it in my opening hand. As with any card in your deck, you'll most likely see it later in the game by drawing or tutoring it. Often tutoring is better anyways because of cards like stoneforge mystic that will not only find the card but equip it as well. It seems to me that it's more of a mid-game card anyways, something to keep mana flow ticking. Plus all kinds of other uses such as blue decks running brainstorm type effects that can find what they want, put the other cards back on top and then attack to pull the land and shuffle the less-useful cards back in the mix. Also decks that run exploration type cards need more ways to consistantly get lands. I think there are a lot of ways this could be useful and for a lot of styles of decks.

I think my Vorel deck would find room for this. Keep building until someone (me) wipes board and then swarm.
