When I have all three cards out, if there are no creatures on the board with P/T higher than two, it's a board wipe. However, it's also infinite creature creation with the Nest of Scarabs popping out 2 tokens with each kill. Or is it equalized because state-based actions are accounted for between the two triggers of blowfly infestation? What if you have 2 Nest of Scarabs out? What about Hapatra, vizier of poisons? What if they have two toughness, say from bad moon?
I tried the glistener elves, but it took up too much space in the deck to dedicate more cards to evasion. I slowed way down. I was average gold fishing at around turn 3.6 (40 play tests), but when I added the elves, it jumped to around turn 4.7 average.
I have traded out 2 hickory woodlots for Pendelhaven to interact better with slaughter horn +berserk.
I experienced some difficulty facing a Trinisphere, and my Nature's claim side boarded proved far too slow. The hickory woodlots were very useful when I used crop rotation to fetch them. Petrified Field brought my Nexus back several times, but one of the most difficult cards I faced was Umezawa's Jitte. I used Pithing Needle (sideboarded) with great success against that.
I played poorly in that I was playing against mono-green, and I did not sideboard out the Pacts of negation, out of habit. Things could have gone slightly better had that not happened.
Updated deck list as of right now:
4x Berserk
4x Crop Rotation
4x Groundswell
4x Invigorate
4x Might of Old Krosa
4x Pact of Negation
2x Vines of Vastwood
4x Gitaxian Probe
10x Forest
2x Hickory Woodlot
2x Pendelhaven
4x Inkmoth Nexus
3x Petrified Field
4x Elvish Spirit Guide
4x Slaughterhorn
2x Lotus Petal
I did use Glistener Elf for a while, but my concern is that he consistently had difficulty actually getting through because of no evasion. Any infesters with a higher mana cost never worked because they were too slow.
However, were I to play with Glisteners, what would you suggest I replace with them?
I've never posted on MTG Salvation before, so if I look like an idiot, feel free to call me out.
However, I've been working on a version of Mono-green Stompy Infect, and I was wondering what you all think, and if I can make it better.
Basically, since this is a creature-less deck, the goal is to turn 1, play Inkmoth,
turn two, play forest, either pitch Elvish Spirit Guide or play and use Lotus petal, and cast Invigorate for free, then Berserk for one, and hit for 10 poison counters.
Obviously, that's the best case scenario, and there are always wastelands, counter spells, and removal, which calls for cards like petrified field, guttural response, and vines of vastwood. Gitaxian probe shrinks the deck, while letting you know if it's safe to let loose with pump spells.
Anyway, here's the mainboard:
4x Berserk
4x Crop Rotation
4x Groundswell
4x Invigorate
4x Might of Old Krosa
4x Pact of Negation
2x Vines of Vastwood
4x Gitaxian Probe
10x Forest
4x Hickory Woodlot
4x Inkmoth Nexus
3x Petrified Field
4x Elvish Spirit Guide
4x Slaughterhorn
2x Lotus Petal
Sideboard:
2x Bojuka Bog
4x Guttural Response
4x Nature's Claim
4x Pithing Needle
1x Teetering Peaks
Cards I'm Considering:
Apostle's Blessing- to make Nexus unblock able, and as a cheap anti-removal spell.
Autumn's Veil- Anti-counterspell
Gut Shot- to eliminate small threats, if need be.
Mutagenic Growth- 0 mana pump is always nice.
Street Wraith- make the deck even smaller? I'm not sure if that's necessary.
Sylvan Library- It would be nice to be able to draw extra cards if I needed to. the 2 CMC is somewhat cost-prohibitive, though.
