    They will never do anything to make the game cheaper. They don't need to compete for a few reasons:

    1) Rabid white-knight fanboys who think WOTC is infallible/barely profiting(lol) and who will go into a blind rage at people who play with proxies.

    2) IP/Copyright laws. Nobody else can make card games BC WOTC HIT IT FIRST.

    3) Tryhards who think they can win a tournament by netdecking a $400 deck.

    4) People who say $400 decks are "cheep if u r adalt lmao" to justify there addiction to a children's card game (that hamster!)

    Yeah it's a thought experiment. I'm designing custom cards, but they are printable. I may create my own TCG in the future.

    Is there somewhere I can see WOTC's (hopefully official) list of what colors get what mechanics?

    EDIT: Assigning traits and gameplay:

    Community: Weenie. Exalted. Global creature boosting. Balanced effects. Small tokens <8 P+T (Creature numbers getting doubled. Human = 2/2 Life = 45 or 30 in draft).
    Structure: Damage prevention. Rules-setting. Taxing. Peace-making. Defense. Counter. Power reduction. Weakness/-X/-X. Poison.
    Intellect: Bounce. Tap/Untap. Milling. Card text changing. Direct damage/Burn.
    Selfishness: Lifelink (I would have it work different in that creatures could only be dealt damage up to their toughness). First strike. Combat-superiority. Gain control. Creature destruction. Discarding/Sacrificing/Paying life as a cost, forcing opponents to do the same. Parasitism/Syphon life.
    Freedom: Vigilance. Combat tricks. Drawing. Long term ramp.
    Instincts: Life gain. Non-creature permanent destruction. Agressive/Short-term. Haste. Harm the controller. Randomness. Short term ramp. Big creatures >7/7. Big tokens >8 P+T (Creature numbers getting doubled. Human = 2/2 Life = 45 or 30 in draft). Pump. Super trample(But with mandatory damage assignment). New Rampage (1).

    Lands: Yellow deserts, green forests, blue mountains, purple swamps, red wasteland (idk?), orange plains.

This is a serious post about my idea about the trading, and it is not spam. If I call anyone a "annoying tryhard", then I am obviouslydefinitely just joking. I am not flaming anyone, not even annoying tryhards. My statement is seriously, and I hope no one thinks I'm trolling because I do not intend to be trolling. It is completely auxillary to the main point of this thread and I AM NOT TRYING TO TRICK ANYONE OR INSULT ANYONE OR SPAM THE FORUM.

    Yes, I made this post in another thread, but I am an shameless attention *****think the identities of the colors are an important part of the game. Anyway enjoy this hypothetical idea!:

    Best way to do it is give primary colors traits that contradict another primary colors. Hard to explain but easy to show

    Yellow: Community and Structure.

    Blue: Intellect and Selfishness.

    Red: Freedom and Instincts.

    Then each secondary color will take the non-contradictory traits of their adjacent primary colors. Each trait of each complementary color will then contradict one trait of each other secondary color. This symmetry makes them a mix between their adjacent primarys, but the primaries are also mixes of the secondaries! This makes it so there are no major or minor colors, all are equally represented!

    Green: Structure and Intellect.

    Purple: Freedom and Selfishness.

    Orange: Community and Instincts.

    The full product

    Yellow: Community and Structure. (Old W)
    Green: Structure and Intellect. (Old WU)
    Blue: Intellect and Selfishness. (Old UB)
    Purple: Freedom and Selfishness. (Old BR)
    Red: Freedom and Instincts. (R)
    Orange: Community and Instincts. (Old G)



    P.S. For the h83rs who think 2 allies 2 enemies is perfect. If you count yourself WUBRG is 3 allies 2 enemies. Also. Star Format. No matter how many colors there are. No matter if you have equal number of enemys and allies. It is still balanced because everyone else has the same number of enemies and allies. If you still think two allies two enemies is a good reason to have 5 colors. You are boring and h8 change and are a h83r. No one likes a boring h83r. Watch Office Space.     I am not familiar with the story, but when Karn was a Phyrexian, could he not plainswalk? Seems like the Phyrexians would use him to contaminate other planes.

    Instead I want people to be aware of their gold counters, since people can steal gold counters or give other players gold counters for discounted effects. For example

    Honest Bribe costs 1 less than act of treason, and in a constructed deck where gold counters might not be a big deal it can be included as a 1 of with no worry. But in limited its really risky. But at the same time combined with Bank Raid it is a powerful combo.

    I was going to include something like:

    Bankruptcy B
    Instant - Common
    Each player loses all gold counters

    at common to balance out the sudden wins. The tension was figuring out how you want to win, but at the same time trying to do both in order to punish the other player from using cheap effects which give you gold counters. Also whether stealing or giving gold counters was a good idea or not.


    This is so parasitic, metawarping and luck-based…it basically turns the game into rock paper scissors.
