A bit more unique than traditional blue commanders, and seems a lot more fun than Talrand, Sky Summoner, which I ran for a few days and took apart because of how boring it was.
Arcanis seems to combo oriented, so probably not, but I've always thought he was such a cool card

I wanted to run Sigarda, Host of Herons, but another enchantress/voltron deck would be too redundant seeing as I already have Tajic and Uril. Gaddock Teeg is too generic, too many people play him. I'd also like to avoid tokens, I have a token sub-theme in Brago, and Derevi is nothing but.
Any other suggestions for these colors, or any others. i'm not gonna build them right away, but I'm just trying to do a bit of planning before college starts up again (R.I.P) I'm hoping BfZ has some exciting new legendaries
I run a Derevi, Empyrial Tactician token deck, works great. Blue really lets you take advantage of flyers and evasion spells as well as add a bit of control
As my love for EDH grows, so does my collection of decks, but I can't help but to limit myself to one deck per color combo. This is not only to prevent redundancy, but also as a personal goal to explore all types of play styles and strategies for colors. Often times, there is a stigma of typical strategies for colors, but they differ. However, I find my self having trouble finding commanders for the remaining colors. I currently have 8 completed decks, and 5 in the works
Does anyone else do this? If so, how do you find unique or entertaining commanders for these decks? Also looking for suggestions
I built a Melek, Izzet Paragon deck. It's goal is spell slinging, utilizing mana and playing a ton of spells and benefiting off storm effects and things like guttersnipe and sphinx-bone wand. It's relatively casual, so nothing crazy, but I want to improve it a bit
I need cards that help me get tons of mana in a turn so I can sling crazy amounts of spells.
There are a few cards I'm waiting to add, which will really make this deck:
Ruric Thar, the Unbowed is a pretty fun commander. You can shut down the board pretty fast and he's hard to deal with without getting beat down yourself. I made a thrown-together deck a few days ago and it's surprisingly fun, especially with cards like dictate of the twin gods and gratuitous violence which is pretty much a win if they're down before you play him, even though it isn't commander damage it's still a game ender
Kraj and Zegana both have the same costs, kruphix the next most costly, and vorel being the cheapest.
If I want to go with Kraj as the commander, I would need to have a lot more control and protection to ensure all the creatures with counters on them stay on the field, otherwise his ability is pointless.
Zegana on the other hand is an equally big threat because she is a pretty good draw engine and can become quite the threat if you have a big enough creature out
Regardless of which of the two I choose, from your experiences, how necessary is control/counterspells and protection? and what are some effective protection spells and abilities?
I'm in the process of building a simic GU deck. I have several things I want to include in this deck, but don't know if it's possible. And that is the source of my indecisiveness as to what commander I should choose for the deck.
2.) Massive ramp/fatties: Since crazy ramp is common in green decks, and necessary in simic decks so I can start making moves early, I might as well utilize this and run fatties. I was thinking Hydras and wurms, since they are awesome and have pretty cool abilities. Plus mana ramp is great with Kruphix, god of horizons
3.) Control: It's necessary to keep my counters and buffed creatures in place, but also to buy time.
With all that said, I'm leaning towards Experiment Kraj, since most things will have counters anyway. But is it possible/smart to try and include all this or will it be too incoherent of a deck if I try and do this?
I was definitely planning on adding demonic pact and dark petition. Kothophed, Soul Hoarder, seemed a bit risky, its an instant loss if a player decides to clear the board while he's out. Not that protecting yourself is really this deck's strategy, but this card makes you especially vulnerable, especially since this deck requires risk and recklessness. That's just my opinion, though
You seem to be lacking in protection for Brago (although I like Spectra Ward). Swiftfoot Boots can be found for $0.25 basically anywhere thanks to constant reprints in Commander precons. Counterspell and Swords to Plowshares will run you about $2-3 apiece, Swan Song and Dissolve for about $1 each, and Dissipate and Arcane Denial for under a dollar. Path to Exile is this month's FNM promo, so expect to see a couple in binders and such.
What cards do you recommend I cut for these additions.
I have a ton of counterspells and cards you metioned in my Talrand EDH, which I plan on taking apart. It's no longer fun like it used to be.
Cloudgoat Ranger makes tokens that can make him big and flying. If you can blink him a few times you can start tapping a lot of tokens and make him huge.
Whirler Rogue isn't out yet, but once Origins comes out he's gonna go right in my Brago deck. Looks awesome.
Sea Gate Oracle doesn't draw as efficiently as Mulldrifter but it does let you choose the best of the top two cards of your deck.
Fireshrieker gives Brago two triggers per combat as well as letting him kill faster. Silverblade Paladin does something similar.
Mystic Remora is good in the early game, but with Brago it has some staying power. Mid to late game you can continually flicker it to reset the upkeep cost.
Sphinx of Uthuun costs a lot of mana, but if you can flicker him a couple times it gets ugly.
I have a budget Brago, King Eternal deck, However, with all the new cards that have come out from origins, MM2, and the Tarkir block. It needs updating.
I built it for about $30, but am willing to drop in another 15 20.
Looking for additions and replacements. They don't have to be "under a dollar budget" but not more than a few bucks

He seems like he would be really fun running mono red artifact sacrifice, exploiting effects like scuttling doom engine and mycosynth lattice combos with dictate of twin gods, gratuitous violence, etc.

I don't like Zurgo Helmsmasher, he's a buffer and more vulnerable Tajic, Tariel, Reckoner of Souls is cool, and Kaalia of the Vast is way too expensive of a build to even be considered. Other than that, there's only Oros, and he eh..

Things I want to include:
1.) +1/+1 counter shenanigans: Doing things with counters. i want to utilize cards like sage of hours, experiment kraj, master biomancer, and prime speaker zegana, and it helped even more by vorel of the hull clade, increasing savagery, and solidarity of heroes.
