I think your deck is too mill heavy, if that is such a thing. I don't see how you reach your win-con without a breaking or 4x jace, memory adept. Here's what I'm running. I haven't playtested it yet, but I think it will hold up.

I added the Duskmantle Guildmage and ended up taking it out. My deck was getting wasted before I had enough mana to make him effective. He doesn't work well with control. I may re-add him since I've adjusted my curve a bit so my early game should let me last a bit longer. At this point I prefer the versatility of Omenspeaker to the damage of Guildmage.

    Hello Mods,

I have updated my location since the site switched over to Curse and several times since I somehow got a warning for not listing my location. It appears that my location keeps erasing itself. I'm not sure why/how this is happening. Any assistance would be great. Additionally any repeal of my Market Street ban would be appreciated greatly. Thank you!

I love the idea of this deck. It really does give you a bunch of "turns" if you can keep Prophet alive. I love the card advantage with Ephara and the ability to ramp and counter. You have five Temple of Mystery's listed. Get back to us with some more detailed matchup details. Thanks for posting!

I just ordered 4 Duskmantle Guildmage and 4 Wight of Precinct Six. I think I'm going to focus more on the synergy of milling like this deck does while using counters and removal to keep the board clean. How does this deck usually play at tournaments? I took my deck to FNM in my area and it did pretty poorly. I beat some kid playing a green black beatdown deck. I lost to everyone else winning only 1 game amongst the 3 other matches I played. I'm still missing a bunch of the cards, but I believe I can find them for cheap. I will probably boot most of my Desacration Demons as Mutavault owns them. How do you deal with burn decks Archmage? Just counter the spells I assume right? Or is there an easier/more consistent/more board-state based way of avoiding the burn? How do you deal with Elixir of Immortality?

So what are some good cards to side board? I'm not really sure how to most effectively use my side board. I know it's used to better counter whatever deck your opponent plays, but I'm not sure what are good cards to put in (or, really, which cards to swap out).

Good point mw3forum. I haven't seen Mind Grind before Ripbc04, but that is awesome. Crazy good end game, good balance against being mana flooded. It's certainly worth a couple cards.

Thanks for all of your help everyone! If anyone is still paying attention I can update the deck list. I plan on focusing the deck more on milling with some creature pumps from the milling. My wincon is outcreaturing (overpowering), my alternate wincon of milling will only enhance my creaturing wincon, if my first wincon fails. I can post it up if you all are interested.

I have a couple Consuming Aberration's on the way. I think I'm going to cut Mirko and a Psychic Strike for them. Tome Scour is nice, but I don't want to go too mill heavy. Its cost is definitely giving me pause though...I have some Nighthowler's I could throw in to my deck, it's just a matter of what I would kick to make room. I certainly have the space to side board them at the very least. Good tips, thanks! And I'm not sure who that chick is, but there's nothing hotter than someone doing a horse impression well.

Hey ya'll! This is my first post on the deck board. I'm still relatively new here, but I think that gives me incite into the game that other grizzled vets may have missed. I feel the most powerful mechanic in the game is milling. You force your opponent to (probably, possibly) miss huge parts of their deck. Combined with board control cards, you are dictating the game to your opponent on your terms. I've made a deck and I would love some feedback on cards I should add, mana distribution, cards I should remove, and alternate win conditions I could segue to. Since I'm new to Magic (as of Theros) I'm sure I'm missing some good cards from the Ravnica set. Thanks a million for taking the precious time to help me out. It is much appreciated! Without further ado, here is my deck!

Just by looking at the distribution of my deck, I can see I'm going to have to add a couple more removal spells. I'm not sure which ones would work best though. I've got quite a few creatures, but they give me enough flexibility to mill or advantage attacking.

Thanks again for any tips or help you provide! I think it's amazing!

Thanks for the advice! This may help me get rid of some of my unneeded rares as well. Which set is best for a standard deck? I'm guessing Theros, but I would assume that would be wrong.

    Hi,
I am completely new. In the near future I will be looking forward to buying a box of cards. I am completely unfamiliar with how boxes are sold and what each set contains. I am trying to work on my basic format deck (blue/green). Can someone point me to a discussion of the pros/cons of each set or suggest what I should buy? I've got mostly cards from Theros now, but would like to expand my capabilties. Thank you!

    Hello Future Friends,
My name is Derectous. I've played in 2 MTG sealed deck tourneys. I'm starting to get hooked. I look forward to learning about the game. Hopefully I will go from student to master and be able to return the favors I've been given. I live in the Appleton, WI area and am free to catch a game at Chimera some time. I'm sure I will have more questions in the future. For now, hi!
