I'm looking to make some cuts for one more soulfire and one more command. Perhaps 3-4 Thoughtseize as Thoughtseize into rabblemaster is extremely strong.
Kalonian Hydra played with generator servant, will be 8 on the first swing, and then the kill if they don't answer it. Also Sire of Insanity would be a good haste creature, forcing them to topdeck removal. I would cut Tymaret, Polis Crusher, Life's Legacy, and apex pretador.
I think Sylvan Caryatid strategies are quite weak unless your deck contains Xenagos, The Reveler. Nissa, Worldwaker and Elspeth, Sun's Champion are excellent finishers, and you have the removal to answer almost anything. Connections and Courser will keep you ahead on cards, and help you answer everything until you land a card your opponent can't handle. I am playing a BG version of this with Scavenging Ooze, and will be playing it in the upcoming invitational.
I have been a fan of golgari from the start. I was playing a list like yours, with sylvan caryatid, reaper, and polukranos. It did not do very well for a number of reasons, mainly sylvan caryatid. I don't feel like B/G should be ramping right now. We have so much good removal, and the courser connections package is insane. Most games with the above list, I can just answer every threat they play. Scavening Ooze is miles better than pharika, and playing 8 mana dorks is weak when you are not playing red.
Aggro-suicidey Jund Pod.Blood Artist + Falkenrath Aristocrat - Swing sac team, regain life/ kill swing.Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts combo. Geralf's Messenger , Bloodghast , and Gravecrawler for repeated podding. Don't know what to do with the sideboard, my FNMs usually have RDW and the top decks. Also the maindeck might need some trimming, I don't know what excellent creatures are out there for me to pod with. Ideas? (also, please put explanations and tips with any suggestions. I need guidance not just what to play, ya feel me?)
My current build. Boon Satyr may be next on the chopping block for Grim Guardian, but I have not tested it enough. Boon Satyr seems ridiculous with Primeval Bounty.
4 Color Control. My punts aside, I have gone almost undefeated with this on cockatrice (not the best for testing, but I have played people from my LGS on there soo...). I need some help with the sideboard.
I would highly suggest that you cut Master of the Feast and Brain Maggot for Pack Rat and Desecration Demon. They are both extremely powerful. I put the Slaughter Games and Staff in for filler, those slots are totally up to the metagame at your store. I think Blood Crypts would be a worthwhile investment.
1 whip is ok, and even has synergies with master of the feast and gary. However, two is too much because its legendary and Underworld Connections is really good. Also, as much as I like Rakdo's Return, it is only good in certain matchups, and is a ridiculously good sideboard card (remember, you will play at least 1 sideboard game each match), so you could leave in return from the underworld and cut the returns for the connections. The whip not being at a 2 of doesnt change maximising the synergies in the deck, and I agree with the post about elixir.
Jace, Memory Adept. Tome Scour is meh, and you could probably play a few red lands to utilize the other side of breaking//entering. Cut traumatize for Jace, simply because you have enough mill cards.
I would suggest-
-4 Tome Scour
-2 Trauatize
+3 Jace, Memory Adept
+2 Far / Away
Jace is ridiculous and even if it gets killed immediately you still mill 10 and divert the attacks from you. If Jace lives more than a turn then you can draw an extra card each turn or just close out the game.
Rescue from the Underworld costs too much to be a 2 card combo with your main 5 drop. Whip is mediocre, especially in your build, many of your creatures don't have to high of power, and I cannot stress the importance of Underworld Connections. I have been playing with the card and it out performs. It will win you games.
