1) You can't play blood barons with only 4 white mana sources
2) For the love for god change your deck name. There's absolutely nothing "tempo" about this deck. (I don't think you know what the word means heh)
3) Lifebane zombies might be worth considering in place of nightveils
4) If you don't run MoW, you might as well just replace the blue all together. You could do BW. White gives you a better mana base for blood baron and obzedat. And sin collectors + glare of heresey out of the SB against control.
1) I have done it with success over the past month, if I find it necessary I'll add more.
2) I don't get this. You're being absurdly rude and following it up with suggestions? How am I supposed to take your suggestions with any sort of sincerity following this abrasive and ridiculous point that you're attempting to make.
Believe me, I love making life miserable for my opponents. And that's why I do want to keep some number of MoW because even just 6 power for 4 mana is value enough to make it. I definitely want to test it like this for a little while at least. Also Nightveil in the main blocks other nightveils wonderfully
Thoughts? Also the blood barons in the board are to help fight mono-black which seems like it might be a hard matchup. Just something I've been throwing around.
I've been liking this a lot, actually. The blood barons in the board have been absolutely insane. It really helps turn around the mono-black match up and by coincidence is also nearly impossible for the mono-white decks to beat. It's definitely more midrange-y after board and I'm not exactly a huge fan of the 1 drops but it's been working so far.
Also the deck eschews the majority of the reanimation plan now with only one sun Titan as a big thing to reanimate. The unburial rites could stand to be cut though
Yeah I wasn't 100% on how to help the matchup out. Ghost quarter seems good. Would your the tec edges for it though? And the night of souls betrayal was up in the air as to whether or not curse was better. And believe me I've read just about all the gifts primers I could find including that list. I just think the deck loses a lot without black in it.
So, gifts rock is probably my favorite deck of all time. It's slow, it's grindy, and it is extremely hard to play efficiently. It's all of my favorite parts of magic combined. It used to be a big thing in modern, but it's recently fallen out of favor due to a lot of circumstances, R/G torn and it's main deck relics are probably one of the biggest problems. But that's why gifts is so great, it can be built to adapt to almost any kind of meta. So that's what I want to try and do here, with the help of anyone who's interested in a nice deck building challenge. Here's a rough list I've been tossing around
This is an extremely rough list as you can tell, but I like it. I like sydri as a mox destroyer/semi-relevant body. Also, True-Name Nemesis as a one sided sulfuric vortex seems pretty awesome. I kind of like the idea of switching the deck to an Oath list post-board as I've always had a soft spot for transformational sideboards, though the list definitely needs to be retooled to have that work out. I'd like to hear some opinions on this, definitely. Vintage is an extremely interesting format to me and I've always wanted to be able to play it semi-competitively.
I've been testing u/b and u/b/w for a while now as in its essentially the mono-blue deck with splashes. All the lands still tap for blue I've stayed away from godless shrine and temple of silence. It's the same creature base as mono-blue main board and honestly thassa is either amazing or terrible. She never has any in between. It's why I'm sort of considering moving away from her
I definitely see what you're saying about the verdicts. They seem certainly sub-optimal. I do like keeping a splash of white though because I feel like the revelations and barons are great in the match ups where I want them. Seer can go too
I just wanted to try the Seer, to be honest. I haven't had any testing with this deck, it's basically just an idea I was tossing around in my head. I see what you're saying about cutting the supreme verdicts but I feel like I would still want some of them maybe just after board though?
