Update: Removed Rhystic Study and Blue Sun's Zenith. They were superfluous and the former is annoying to keep up with for everyone.

Testing Nimble Obstrucitonist. If it's poor, I may re-add Blue Sun or Rhystic in its place.

I'd love to try Stonybrook Banneret and Realmwright. But no room.

Poor Amonkhet. I guess this is Bolas's Amonkhet version of the Talon Gates Frown Hieroglyphic propaganda. No one attacking Bolas after this without paying 2.

I made mine into a Theros themed Warrior/Soldier deck with Auras, Heroic triggers, and heavy on the enchantments. Their effect is the only group hug effect in the deck, and just helps the pace of the game along. I mostly used the Red for access to Keranos and Purphoros as I tutor enchantments and Legends a lot. Helps when you use the W to make a lot of Tokens for Purphoros. Besides, lots of Akros synergy for theme with Heroic.

I love how Nissa's is draining sand from wall cracks like the death of the plane's environment, noting but desert left, how Chanda's archaeologist is illuminating her mural with a torch, and Gideon's is cracked stone. Lilliana's is the prettiest to me and Jace is my favorite because I'm a Cerulophiliac.

Ugh let's face it I just want them all.

Looking at the bottom of each card, you can see explorers or archaeologists looking at the hieroglyphs, as if trying to decipher what happened in the story.
    Do you want another rant?

Because that's how you get another rant from me #Vorthos

Added in the images. I really dislike the whole SDCC promo scheme..."Oh hey you're not going to SD Comiccon? GOOD LUCK GETTING THEM! But wait, in our everloving generosity we'll allow you to have a chance of buying them from our website...HAHA SYKE YOURE NOT IN THE USA!" Hate it.
Probably my favorite post on this site. Even those of us in the USA aren't getting these damn things. You'd think with all the love WOTC wants us to feel for the Gatewatch, obtaining cool prints of them would be more accessible. Instead, already difficult cards to obtain just went up another $80. For basically no reason other than punishing collectors who don't go to cons out in California. Last I checked, MTG is a GLOBAL game. Want to preserve secondary market and reserve list? Fine. But this? At least Invocations sold packs. What purpose is this serving?

*deep breath* okay this will be my final rant on this matter, I promise. Damn who know I had any Red in me. Forgive me Thassa tbh

Not going to lie, kind of ruined my day. I wonder if there's a chance to get at least Jace for a reasonable price? Any collectors see the price drop on these in the past who can answer? The art seems unpopular so hopefully?

Lilliana is my favorite as far as art, but I like all of them honestly. Jace and Gideon are the ones I want, but this just isn't reasonable. I have no choice but to pass, sadly.

What sucks is I've been hoping for a Jace, Unravler of Secrets promo with new art. The original doesn't look good to me. But he's my favorite Jace in terms of abilities so far…

    I really love these.

I wish we had a chance to buy each individually on their website for $30 each at least… I want Jace and Gideon but the whole set? It's too expensive for me. Sad that such cool thematic art is wasted on such horrendously dismal releases like these promos. Ruins all the fun in a game. There's already a lot to collect.

What the hell are we even looking at.

I just want Jace regardless. Ugh, these are always so annoying to try and obtain. I hope the art is garbage.

EDIT: BTW are they supposed to be in hieroglyphic poses?

Xenagos wasn't an authentic god either, and he was failing at maintaing himself. He had relied on enormous influxes of mana from revelry, robbing celestial creatures of Nyx of their star shrouds, and desperately grasping at any devotion he could get to sustain his false godhood.

Dekella was removed from Theros. It lost its star field but remained a potent weapon of divinity that retained its magical prowess. If Thassa had gained a spark, either naturally or stolen and planes walked, I imagine she'd be a powerful aquatic Blue mage (with the advantage of knowing many spells having been a god elsewhere) but not a god unless she re-entered Theros. Her issues might be having to acquire mana to cast things is all, as she's used to having complete domain over all Blue mana of an entire plane. Going from that to having to grasp at mana for spells would kinda suck for a while.

It's good design, but the issue is it's essentially a Trickbind that Cantrips for 1 additional. The option of having a 3/1 Flier with Flash for 3 in Blue is nice, but outside of EDH, the versatility isn't a reason to throw off a good curve in Blue for Modern or other competitive formats, as wasting a cantrip counter as a blocker isn't in Blue's best interest, and going aggressive with a creature with evasion isn't Blue at all (for the most part).

This card shines in Azami EDH, hardly a reason to be worth more than $2. But when you have it in that deck, prepare to lose your friends.

I mean, Idk, that sounds a lot like blue actually...

Blue flyers tempo-style is definitely within its territory. Almost any given format features this. Pauper has plenty of Delver variants on top of Ninja of the Deep Hours + Cloud of Faeries + plenty of other Faeries. Then Standard has UW Spirits (several iterations over several standard formats). In Limited, it's one of the hallmark strategies to blue (especially UW). Modern and Legacy all feature Delver strategies, Geist of Saint Traft (well...once upon a time), UB Faeries (which is basically a port from Standard/Extended), Spirits, UWR Counter-burn (Featuring Spell Queller, Snapcaster Beats), etc. There's plenty of examples everywhere. I think it's actually a pretty prominent part of blue's identity.
Not really. The Blue that wants to counter and control isn't relying on creatures to finish someone off.

It's also possible he figured any PW sparking would be irrelevant so long as they too are not longer Oldwalkers?

I agree about Bolas creating the Eternals to be blindly loyal, as opposed to agents like Tezzeret who would double cross him, and have. Destroying Amonkhet makes sense, in that context.

What's interesting is Samut. Unless she dies (unlikely), she's going to hold a nasty grudge against Bolas. Could he truly not have accounted for a Planeswalker sparking, and carrying a vendetta? Perhaps considered it too rare, perhaps destroying Amonkhet now as a means of avoiding such a possibility. But the reality is, this has transpired, and the roster against him just grew +1.

That said, an army of eternals would probably handle all that, wouldn't it…
