IF this is real, and IF we assume a vraska appearance would set up Ravnica 3.0, that seems very off. Why would Theros not be revisited beforehand when we've set that return up more than any other world? Why would we return to Ravnica before Koth and Phyrexian conflict is resolved. I'm not sure if this is real or not, but 3 new sets in a row and Vraska and Ajani both showing up again seems oddly timed.

Again, no idea if this is even real, but timing would seem odd.
Because sadly for whatever reason, Ravnica is "popular" and we are doomed into having to keep enduring it. The place doesn't even have anything interesting going for it, IMO. Woo, guilds. I suppose Niv discovering planes walkers could be a thing, and there's Ral. IDK. But I suspect a third return there would happen before a second return anywhere else, even before a popular and loved plane like Theros. Sadly.

I don't usually post much, but this has been something that has really troubled me for a long time. Maro says that the public doesn't want to see a return to Loywyn or Kamigawa, yet from what I've seen it seems like everyone would be quite interested in seeing those sets again.

Imo I kinda hated BFZ and SOI for the simple reason that the original sets were so good, that there was no way a return could do them justice. Compare that with the return to Scars and RTR, where the return seemed awesome and fresh when they combined the old world with modern card design. For that reason, we really should see a return to Kamigawa far before a return to a set like Theros.

Ravnica is the most popular and beloved plane in mtg history, rivaled only by Innistrad. Wotc would be brain damaged to not return to it. Besides its not like it would be overdone; assuming Atlazan for Fall 2017, Rav3 would be Spring 2018, thats a five and a half year gap at minimum.

Although your theros question brings up a point I an maro repeat every time someone demands a Return to kamigawa. Every time wotc does a return set they have to consciously chose NOT to do a new set or a return elsewhere instead. That means even though wotc COULD make a decent Kamigawa 2, why do that when there are a great many OTHER returns they could do instead that are far more beloved. The moment someone says "lets do kamigawa 2" they have to convince everyone else not to go back to Ravnica, theros, Tarkir,Kaladesh, dominaria alara, any highly demanded new world etc. instead

Its an 8 on the rabiah scale becasue its behind like every other plane in the "return line" except for like Ulgoth.

Its like wanting an mcu clone saga movie, sure SOME people liked it, but why handicap yourself when you could be working with material overwhelmingly loved instead of overwhelmingly hated .

Nice, I haven't been following Maro's blog lately, but this goes a long way toward arguing why Ravnica is MUCH MUCH more likely to be a return set than Theros. Here's the link if anyone is interested in the Rabiah scale:

    http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/153826844168/the-rabiah-scale

I do find it interesting that lorwyn/shadowmoor and kamigawa are somewhat inverted in their positions considering this scale for what his readership wants to see:

    http://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/129722989913/results-from-return-poll

I know he always says that his readers are just more enfranchised than the general public of MTG players, and that all of their polling indicate that people don't actually want to return to Kamigawa or Lorwyn/Shadowmoor, but I can't help but wonder if their polling is just off. I mean, I know polling is an exact science and a poll has never predicted results of things wrongly in the past couple decades or so, but still.

I know this doesn't help, but does anyone know how many tix prizes are (ex: are booster packs like 10 tix? Or 1 tix? )Obviously this would make a huge difference on what the prizing is for the side events. How many are playmats? If anyone has had experience with past gp tix structures, that would be helpful.

If you have ever played dever, you will know that young pyromancer the best card in the deck. I think saying "Rare" is excluding many powerful cards. I sure hope that someday people will come to a consensus about young pyromancer, so I know that I dont have to spend at lest $200 for a playset for one of these two-drops.

New videos from MtgLion on youtube show him opening 10 seeded packs. All of the promos he got all where rares with the clan's watermark on it, so they were promos that made sense as promos for their respective clans.

    He got:
    Abzan 1: Herald of Anafenza
    Abzan 2: Herald of Anafenza
    Jeskai 1: Thousand Winds
    Jeskai 2: Dragon-Style Twins
    Sultai 1: Sidisi, Brood Tyrant
    Sultai 2: Necropolis Fiend
    Mardu 1: Jeering Instigator
    Mardu 2: Ankle Shanker
    Temur 1: Crater's Claws
    Temur 2: Trap Essence

All cards that offer a choice have been reformatted on gatherer to have bullet points. Here's cryptic command's new oracle text:
    Choose two —
    • Counter target spell.
    • Return target permanent to its owner's hand.
    • Tap all creatures your opponents control.
    • Draw a card.
I like this templating change, it makes charms/commands much easier to read.

    Cryptic Command confirmed in Khans!!!

    lmao that would be great

"Hey, let's run out a wedge block. What should be in it?"
"Something with a triple-mana casting cost."
    "Brilliant!"

Clearly cryptic command won't be reprinted in khans because of this ^^

Also hugely misleading thread title. It was almost a certainty that charms would be in khans. This change is just on the gatherer for now, and doesn't confim ANYTHING will be in khans, just that they are changing the formatting for now. Everything is speculation at this point.

I guess we have to wait for the full packaging to be revealed to confirm or deny any new walkers in khans. The last series had a circle on the back with the official card art on them. All the ones with never seen before art became new cards in m15 (Nissa, Jace, Ajani, Garruk)

I expect we will get the Shadowmoor/Eventide filters.

This seems very likely, if the are to reprint a cycle of lands for khans. They use the hybrid mana symbols, that tend to be reserved for sets with a multicolored theame.

Yikes. By that rate, we won't see then until the year 2080.

  • posted a message on [KTK] Ramaz, Temur Planeswalker?
We know know that Khans is a wedge block, and it made me think again about Ramaz, the RUG walker from duels 2014. If you look at the full artwork (http://cryptcrawler.deviantart.com/art/Duels-of-the-Planeswalkers-2014-Ramaz-381459592) you can tell the background looks very snowy and cold, much like the images of the Temur clan. Does this mean Ramaz could appear in Khans of Tarkir? It was confirmed we would be seeing at least one three-colored walker. What do you think?

    Quote from AvatarofBro »
One of the recent Mothership articles heavily implied that players would have the same reaction to the lands in Khans that they did to the Scrylands (initially hate them, then grow to sort of begrudgingly like them in Standard). This implies that it's going to be a new cycle of lands, and probably not one that appears particularly powerful at first glance.

Can you post a link to this article? I'm curious to read it...

  • posted a message on [[JOU]] So What are you playing prerelease?
Just looking at promos, white is clearly the best color, cheap flyer with evasion, lifelink to make it nearly unraceable, and with the potensional to get bigger. Green would be my second pick, because it basicly wins the game by itself after 2-3 turns of untapping with it. All the other promos seem oddly weak or overcosted. Honestly, I usisaly decide based on the commons (as well as the promo), and since so few have been spoiled, I cannot make a full opinion.
