Dissolve, in my experience, was always so awkward and difficult to cast. I'd rather have Dispel in all honesty, since Izzet Charm does such a solid job of keeping threats off the table early game (mainly Jace, Architect of Thought, and creatures can mostly be handled with Turn // Burn.
Oh didn't think of that. Was only thinking of creatures, well played
yep, Abrupt Decay is honestly just as good as any target cheap creature removal, just because of its versatility (and the fact that it can't be countered).
i like going jund over other options because it opens up so many alternate win-cons. this deck just functions as a sweet reaper of the wilds deck that has cerebus, chromanticore, and blood baron win-cons, which is really solid.
i think you've got the mana about as good as it will get, though i do like nylea's presence over one-of temples. courser of kruphix is a massive target in this deck, but it takes the heat off of the caryatid, which is nice, and keeps you afloat by generally netting you a solid 2-3 card advantage and a life or two between land coming down and kill spells used on it. i'd like to see something else other than underworld connections, but i'm honestly not sure what, as you do need the card draw.
I do agree about Underworld Connections. It's typically just too slow, and clunky, since most of my cards require so much mana anyway. I want to run 1, maybe 2, mainboard.
I want to try Civic Saber though, since it's a one-drop, and can provide just extra beats in all the right places (an 8/6 Cerberus, a 6/5 Reaper, and of course, Chromanticore). It also makes Sylvan Caryatid an even better blocker.
Maybe your gameplay videos will convince me, though, they're always great to watch - hopefully, you'll get back around to Izzet Burn once Journey into Nyx is released.
Caryatid is the strongest card in the deck. I tried Lanterns in the first build, which was Bant, and they were too slow and ultimately unnecessary.
Ok, how's this look now? Fair enough point about the 6 mana card draw. I can relate to so many games I've been stuck at 5 mana with an opportunity in hand praying for a land that never came. Replaced Counterflux with Izzet Charm, extra burn or counter in the early game. Keeping the Lightning Strike over Magma jet for the time being for 3 toughness dudes. Considering Turn Burn but feel the charm may be better for the early game and Mizzium Mortars is my set of removal currently. You think I could replace the Mortars with Turn Burn? Or maybe a 2/2 split? Added 1 Wild Ricochet for the 1 Mutavault I dropped, I'd rather keep the instant, sorcery Izzet theme over the hammer tbh. The deck is meant to be an aggro-control deck. 25 lands does sound about right, I was venturing more into control territory with 26.
How are the extra shock lands working out for you guys that are splashing white? I'm only running Steam Vents and Temple of Triumph in my deck, but I'm curious if it would be worth it to add Hallowed Fountains and Sacred Foundry over Temples and Izzet Guildgates for extra speed. I just don't want to shock myself to death
For me, I'd almost always rather have the option than not.
Imagine peeling a Guildgate on the turn you can win, regardless of life, and then losing because it came in tapped?
I really love Dakra Mystic.
I also really love Hour of Need in this deck.
Baron doesn't actually stop Demon at all, since it doesn't have flying?

People have also suggested Read the Bones. It could be brutal on my life total, though. Most of the time I just get card advantage through Domri Rade and Courser of Kruphix, and only sometimes with Underworld Connections.
and gameplay vs. Boros Burn:
I never thought about Civic Saber, but now I really, really want to try it out.
It seems hilarious and possibly good.

Cheers!
Turn / Burn is literally our best card. Make space!

Food for thought.
this.
my latest iteration, which splashes white for Boros Charm.
