Hi. My name is George and I work at Target for 7 dollars an hour. I'd get med benefits but they only let me work just under the minimum hours a week I'd need to receive them. This is very cruel.
If I work 20 hours scrubbing toilets sweeping floors and stocking shelves I can afford a massage from this very good masseuse down the street. I have alot of pain in my shoulders and feet from working so much so this would be great.
Across the street is a large complex where they do filing and other stuff for Chase bank. I'm sure someone in that building makes 140 dollars in an hour.
Why are 19 hours of sweeping cleaning and stocking worth less than one hour of his? Why am I less deserving of a massage? I wonder... does this imaginary guy have the same problems with his ankles as I do?
If he were to play magic he would be able to afford a play set of force of will's for much less effort than I. Now magic cards and foot massages are not necessary to physically survive, although a certain amount of unalleviated stress and strain on my ankles may one day fracture them leaving me unable to work my low paying job, which would eliminate my primary source of income, and eventually make it very hard for me to pay for food, or get to places where there is food available for free...

The problem is the way you look at value.
Now if I scribble a word in perm marker across a piece of cardboard it looks ugly and detracts from everyones play. That sucks, and also makes it harder to understand what's going on at a glance, which is silly and punishes the opposing player using a mental game, and that is unfair.
Good sized, color proxies, with correct words numbers and all the other trappings do not detract from play at all.
Why can't I play? Why can't I eat from your table? Why can't I get a foot massage down the street?
I threw a one of sultai charm in the SB for my BUG. It works, but not very fundamental.
