I know my friend will want this for his Mayael too. Maybe knowing how he adds cards could help out? He just has a pile of like 150-250 creatures for Mayael and he just randomly throws in like 40-50 of them at random so he doesn't have to make cuts and always gets surprised of Mayael triggers. Always thought it was the best strategy for that deck XD.
that's gonna get nabbed for image leeching here a safe version
Whenever another colorless creature enters the battlefield under your control, you may change the power and toughness of Mimic Eldrazi with the power and toughness of that creature until the end of the turn.
This does fun things with phyrexian dreadnought. If im thinking of it right you should be able to sac this to the Dreadnought. Even if you couldn't it would still be a 12/12 until end of turn.
Very underwhelmed by this new keyword, it would have been much better as an ability word that could have different effects for different cards. A flat +1/+1 until end of turn is incredibly boring and not very inspirational at all. Just looks like heroic's younger brother.
I'm also very disappointed to see another creature mechanic. Prowess will only ever be printed on creatures. Granted it does care about non creature spells, but the last non creature mechanic was extort if I remember correctly, and the last non permanent ability was flashback. I really hope we see a non permanent ability in this set, especially for the Abzan Houses.
Probably been answered but it just bugs me to NO end.
First your forgetting overload and cipher from RTR second your forgetting DEVOTION that was literately printed last set.
Personally i don't mind Prowess its perfect for limited (not complicated but its a strategy you can go for). Also heroics younger brother? Have you all forgotten the WORST part of Heroic? its that you have to TARGET the heroic creature! This doesn't care if its a giant growth, a cantrip, a walker, an enchantment or artifact! also worth mentioning that we don't KNOW that "Prowess 2, this creature gets +2/+2 for each Non creature spell you cast" isn't a possibility. Also i prefer simple but usable limited based ability's WITH an awesome returning mechanic like Morph to RTR's lets spam weird difficult to trigger ability's that require you to go full throttle into its strategy or get nothing(except for extort obv).
In short bring on the usefully limited Mechanics with promise for 'some' useful cards outside limited!
I can understand that. i tried a Pyromancer, nivix cyclops, guttersnipe, budged standard myself and i could never get the 3 drop draw spells to give me what i needed at the right mana. Hidden strings was ok at least. I'd be happy with a '1U instant/sorcery scry 2/3 draw 1' from JOU but i honestly cant see wizards making a good blue cantrip after what we've seen from the block so far.
Its funny to me when everyone whines about not getting a new cantrip. Guess what? you already had 2 called Ponder and Preordain and you played them so much they got banned. IF WOTC is going to introduce a cantrip back into modern then they are probably going to just unban one of those rather than add/designe yet another blue cantrip. I say this not only because that's easier but it also allows them to give modern a cantrip while not having to let a new one cycle its way threw standard.
So it activates Epharas devotion, makes her ****ign huge, allows her to murder
ANYTHING that blocks or is blocked by her, ignors hexproof and shroud, also pro colors. And its only 1 mor to equipt than a sword? Im in love.
Standard Prediction Time: Not going to waste any keystrokes on cards that are limited only (Like Scourge of Fleets or Spawn of Thraxes).
Red: Satyr Hopelite This card really wants to push red into an enchantment theme. The problem with this card is that in order to replace a card like Firedrinker Satyr you have to target it at least once in order for it to have 2 power. If you add 1 power to this card it suddenly goes from bad to awesome, however it only starts with 1 power and will likely only ever have 1 power. This means this card is a terrible late game draw and a less than average 1 drop even on turn 1. There could be some fringe decks paying boros enchantments with Ethereal armor and madcapskills, but in general hexproof >>> 1-2 conditional extra power. Prediction: Not Playable
Im thinking some people are interested in another 1 drop heroic +1/+1 couter duder to go along with Favored Hopelite. Also not bad with the ordeals. (ive been wondering about a T1 Hopelite, experiment one, cackler into T2 Red Ordeal swing 3, then T3 Swing 4 bolt face/blockers agro deck. This helps)
Green: Hero's Bane Imagine if Kalonian Hydra instead of requiring you to attack required you to spend 4 mana to double it's counters. Is that better? No. Is Kalonian Hydra seeing play in standard? No. Fact Unplayable
Shrine Devotion IS a thing especially in green and Xenagos the god of revels IS a card. This hydra might make a better mana sink then its Kalonian friend.
Gold/Colorless: Hall of Triumph A 3 colorless mana anthem effect. Not good enough for standard. 1 potential use is with master of waves, but the problem is this means skipping playing nightveil spector which means less tokens...not worth it. Prediction Unplayable.
Why is it always MOW or nothing with you people? Honestly. It allows other colors than blue or white access to a glorious anthem (a rather easy to cast one I might add) red might find a nitch (ok prolly not) green might if Green Enchantment creature decks start happening (IE. Blossoms, the centaur, prolly a crap ton of dorks too.). And Black Agro might have just become a thing. Dismissing it because it doesn’t count toward MOW's devotion seems WAY to focused.
Iroas, God of Victory Despite the name, Victory is not in Iroas future. For Gods to be playable (so far). Their enchantment text by itself must provide a ton of value. This card has a ton of different scenarios so let's look at them. 1. Against control. This card is a complete blank. It will never get enough devotion to attack and doesn't provide value to playing cards (2 dmg from purphoros) or provide a better combat benefit (+dmg from puphoros). Against Midrange. This card will win games against midrange. Suddenly it's possible to attack with 2 burning trees into desecration demon or boros reckoner or whatever. This card provides reach that not enough fanatic of mogis can contend with. Against Aggro. On the play, this card is very close to brave the elements + threatens to become a relevant attacker next turn. On the draw, this card does nothing as it does not immediately impact the board if you are losing a race. Overall, this card has some very powerful uses and some bad ones so my Prediction Sideboard Only
Im not saying he's going to brake standard (im really not) but white and/or red activates him so easily on curve its ridiculous! Hell if your control opponent has already wiped all your dudes theres always enlisting spark troops for “play random 2 devotion dude and spark trooper. Take 13 and i'll gain 6 Go.“ as your post wrath answer. Also hes just funny with Aurelia :D! Auto add 4? no way (I mean he is legendary) but sideboard? He will DEFINE decks most likely. dunno if they will be Tier 1 though
Standard doesn't want this and modern wont tough a card with that mana cost unless it can be reanimated. But who cares? standard and modern are so win win win sentrick that it seems like the only way to please them is to cram random 1 drops and 2 drops with 5 good ability's so mhe.
EDH will find a home for it if not for just the 'and planswalkers' aspect of the card. Instant speed wrath though thats just gravy!
scry 2 loses something on 7 mana cards unfortunately but hey sometimes youll need that scry and be able to get it so overall i like the card
Rules check can this be used on an already untapped inspire creature to gain the effect? I'm assuming no but if it did that would help make inspire decks a thing......at least ones with U/G in them.
The cards amazing simple yet powerful. and i mean who doesn't love it when a card gets pumped to 'permanents' for its target ability
So i cast Rescue from the Underworld which as apart of its casting requires me to sacrifice a creature. I choose Child of alara and sacrifice it, then as child of alara dies it destroys all nonland permanents including rune-scarred demon. Now that ive paid the extra cost of rescue its ability happens allowing me to choose a creature in my graveyard to return at upkeep.
My question is does child kill rune-scarred BEFORE i need to choose a creature in my graveyard to reanimate or do i need to choose a target as i cast rescue?
ie can i choose the rune-scarred that died to childs trigger apon sacrificing child to rescue? im wondering if this works because rescues sac is a part of the cost and not the ability and childs death happens on cast not resolution for rescue.
oh wait that was just some dust on my screen

ALSO kills True Name Nemisis

Seems rather odd i kept hearing all this "Born of the Gods is gana suck" talk just yesterday... oh well im happy !
I think mods have problems with calling people stupid but what about dense? thick headed perhaps? well in any case im not going to call anyone that.
For all i know your joking/trolling and insulting you would be playing into your hands. So i wont.
I just very much hope that you are joking otherwise it might have been worth a warning/ban to call you by some insult.
Warning for flaming. -Wildfire393
