I would really love to start collecting foils of everything, but due to my limited budget... getting foils just isn't... in the cards for me right now. Har har har.
Sooo I got into playing magic about 4 years ago and it wasn't long after i started learning how to play that I was completely infatuated with angels. My very first deck I tried to put together was an (awful noob) monstrosity of an angel deck with massive mana costs and if I was lucky I could put out a creature on turn 5... MAYBE. As the only girl playing in a group of guys I was made fun of, and rightly so because looking back and knowing what I know now it was really ridiculous and impractical.
Needless to say I now build moderately better decks, but my weird "gotta catch 'em all" Pokemon-like obsession with the angels of magic never really went away. So this happened. Over the past couple of years I've slowly collected every angel MTG had to offer. Not every edition of every angel, even though that thought did cross my mind I don't have the energy or the finances to fangirl that hard. So here's my collection of angels. To my knowledge every angel since alpha has been accounted for except for the Archangel of Thune (just ordered) and the three new ones that are coming out with M15.
One thing I would MAYBE someday like to do is collect duplicates of angels that have different art than the ones I have but that feels... overwhelming at the moment.
I would have to say find ways to help support her and help her be more successful. Even though it's "her thing" i think you should take it on more as a team, rather than... "hey you really suck at this why don't you call it quits." Even if it fails she'll know you had her back and were encouraging her.
You know, as a girl i'm really impressed that you immediately realized your mistake and tried to make it right. We all screw up and do stupid things sometimes. I'd say give it time. I think that if you yelled at her because you were mad that YOU dropped her thingy then you probably are frustrated with her about something else and it just came out in a really weird and inappropriately timed way, so you might want to ask yourself what REALLY has been frustrating you, because I dont think it's dropping someone else's paddle board.
THESE ARE FANTASTIC. If you want to level up, find out how to blank cards (short version: use acetone). Then you can color on the cards directly (and maybe even join the Holiday Card Exchange this December).
The card exchange sounds like something I'd love to do! I'll try out the card blanking and make some more silly proxies, but I don't really know if it's something people would want. lol
Not sure if this is considered "art". I can't afford the actual adult MTG cards for the deck I want to build. So I made my own proxies. Hoping to not get made fun of tonight at magic by the guys, can't wait for them to start complaining when i play Sex Appeal from Unglued
