    yawgmoths will essential but worse

I like (however I already made the forum

I'm not sure it's necessarily worse. Unlike Yawgmoth's Will, cards that enter the graveyard after it comes into play also get escape. This means that you can potentially do some crazy stuff with cards like Lotus Petal or Lion's Eye Diamond (and obviously Black Lotus), if you can keep your graveyard stocked enough.

That is a REALLY interesting take on the Khans vs. Dragons cycle from Fate Reforged. I wonder if there's going to be another cycle of these?

Would be cool to have a cycle with the different two faction sets. Also giving the name of the set to the card would be amusing.

Green- Rise of the Eldrazi picks between Zendikari and Eldrazi

Red- Aether Revolt picks between Consul and the Rebels

Black- War of the Spark picks between Ravnica and Bolas

White- dunno Kamigawa for spirits/humans? Or maybe Mercadian Masques for rebel/mercenary? Or Invasion for Phyrexia/Coalition? Kamigawa might work since it was the unusual set to have a white villain.

I could see white being something like Journey into Nyx, and use Gods and Mortals, since Heliod was a major antagonist of that story.

trade routes was already a thing, but nice to have it in a different colour i guess.

I think it’s a better Trade Routes, albeit situationally. This has obvious synergy with “when you cycle”, and effects that trigger off of discarding. Not saying it’s a broken ability, but a much different and synergistic ability that that of Trade Routes.

Also, (and potentially more importantly), unlike Trade Routes, you can cycle away extra copies of the card. Plus, it's on color for Seismic Assault, which could potentially use a card like this, since that deck usually runs a ton of extra lands to make sure it has the necessary fuel for the assault.

Heck, you don't even need loam for this to be a good card. With a sufficient number of fetch lands, this seems quite nice as well

On the other hand, it DOES work with cumulative upkeep cards (except ones that are enchantments), so maybe it could be used with those to break things?

I hope it isn't the real card. The name must be " Arguel's Blood Feast " . " Arguel's Blood Fast " means nothing unless it's a too subtle joke.

A fast is a period of time where one starves oneself. It used to be believed by a lot of different groups (including a lot of the native population of the Americas) that a fast could bring you prophetic visions and other such otherworldly information. So no, a blood fast (as in, Arguel, as a vampire, is fasting which means he's not drinking blood) that leads to him having visions that lead him to a lost temple of a forbidden god is RIGHT up the alley of "mesoamerican tropes".

I think Harsh Mentor is the finalizing pushed 2 cmc cycle, Tarmogoyf, Dark Confidant, Stoneforge Mystic, Snapcaster Mage. All of these are "if you are in this color you want to seriously conciser adding these, and they do nothing but help you.

If you are in red, you probably like passive one sided damage... So lets see how many things it hits. I'm just going to go through all the decks and name cards main deck:

    Jund Death Shadow

    Total- 6

    Dredge

    Total- 5

While I agree it's a really good card, do note that it only hits for activations on the battlefield, so it's not going to hit street wraith cycling or dredge activations from the yard.

EDIT: Or Ghor-Clan Rampager Bloodrush, for that matter :p

This actually seems really good, especially with Baral, Chief of Compliance - 1U to counter a spell and loot, then 1R to Time Walk them? Yup, seems good. We have a glut of spells at 3CMC for Baral Control (Disallow, Void Shatter, Unlicensed Disintegration assuming a Grixis splash) but this offers a playable counter that generates a ton of tempo on flashback.

Probably not modern playable still, but hard to tell. Mana Leak is better and widely played there, while Mistbind Clique isn't getting a ton of love...but if Mana Leak cost one more and had "flashback: Mistbind", who knows? Worth scoping out in Jeskai or Grixis control lists me thinks.

I think the better comparison would be a red mini-Exhaustion, since neither Rubble nor Exhaustion actually tap the lands down (and both are sorcery speed). Still, a fine card. I'd be quite surprised if this saw play in Modern, but I'd be happy to play this in standard if the right deck pops up for it. Maybe alongside Fevered Visions, since that deck is all about tempo? It seems like there could be a pretty decent list that could be built for UR Fevered Prowess deck (including stuff like soul-scar mage, baral, thermo-alchemist, storm chaser mage, etc) A normal control deck wouldn't find the tempo play of "keep some lands tapped" to be particularly exciting.

Yes, we dont need to just have powerful answers, lets ban the offending decks outright. Thats sure to make Standard great....

Sorry, but 7 cards required is painful. There better be something ridiculously pushed to warrant that restriction on this card.

UU - Counter Target Non-Creature Spell - Draw a Card - Cycle (U) - If this card was Cycled Draw a Card.

    Something like that...

...You do realize that what you proposed is a 1 mana, instant speed Divination that will sometimes be used as a better Negate if absolutely necessary?

On the topic of Kefnet himself, I think that he's fine as a potential U finisher. There are serious problems with the viability of blue based control in the current standard format, but considering him in a vacuum, you can drop him mid to late game and still keep up a counter spell, which is a pretty good spot to be in for control. As for the viability of getting to 7 cards in hand, I'm actually a bit surprised that they didn't make him require 6 cards in hand to reflect Hazoret's condition of requiring 1 or fewer cards in hand. However, I also think that with the way that the current set is shaping up, it should be easier to stick 7 cards in hand than people expect, especially since you can use his ability to increase the number of cards in your hand by 2, if necessary. It does seem odd that a God would have an ability that's comparable to a lowly Azure Mage, though...

So... Better than I think people are giving it credit for, but certainly not a crazy good card, and probably not viable in the current meta at all.

posted a message on Amonkhet formatting split cards... what the...
    Dusk and Dawn 2WW
    Sorcery
Destroy all creatures with power 3 or greater.
3WW Exile Dusk and Dawn from your graveyard: Return all creature cards with power 2 or less from your graveyard to your hand.

How hard is this? Is it really that important that Dusk is cast as a spell itself?

Yes, it is. For one thing, they've already got embalm for this set. Two different mechanics that can't be countered would be a very VERY bad idea. Second of all, it lets them play with the idea of multi-typed cards, like creatures that turn into instants or enchantments that turn into sorceries. Also, to a lesser extent, it means that they can do some CMC matters stuff with the cards, due to them having a combined CMC cost. The main issue, though, is that the uncounterable nature of the proposed idea is too much, especially for the context of this block.
