  • posted a message on How do you practice for draft?
I join some drafts in my LGS, but I always like to practice before with some friends, but we are not always available so I wanted to know what do you do to practice for drafts? (If you do something)

I first used the program to keep track of my collection, and then to generate booster packs and practice somehow for draft and taking my time, but then I thought if there is a way to generate a booster pack, and know if it came with a foil card, is this a feature that the program doesn't have?

If someone knows, I'd like to know Smile

I love craking packs, when I have the extra money I don't mind, and in my LGS, sometimes they sell past booster packs, like from the original ravnica block, time spiral block, lorwyn-shadowmoor block, etc.

In fact last week I bought a Lorwyn booster for $11 and got a foil Sower of Temptation so it paid itself Smile

Yeah, now for my decks, they can be double sleeved, and now the foils in perfect fit ones, I will order 4-5 packs of those, they are not that expensive

I just tried 4 perfect fit sleeved cards in a single 9 pocket page slot... very nice fit. Thumbs Up

nice! I never heard of perfect fit sleeves before, but maybe it's time to buy some

thanks to all! and I didn't know that the ink was after the foil.

Now I see that I can have the 4 per slot, and the idea of perfect fit sleeves is also great! but with those on, will the slot in the binder page hold the 4 perfect sleeved cards?

I collect my cards in 9-card binder pages they are one-sided and in every slot I put a playset of every card.

And when I get a foil, I normally trade it for the non foil version and other card, but here is my question, if I were to collect foils the same way ( 4 per slot ) will the foil from the cards come off? or will they be safe?

    Quote from Dakhwon
For funsies, the circumference of the earth in inches is 6,082,560,000". A magic card is 3.5" long. This means it would take 1,737,874,286 cards to circle the earth once. More than three times means they made more than 5.31 billion cards printed in 2010.

this is it! something was wrong with the other calculation, only imagine having 1% of the production of every set

I spent forever looking for a good program that I liked, and could find one, so I've made up a spreadsheet on Google Drive that contains almost everything, split up by block. I think I want to change around the quantity blocks to allow for choosing Grade, but it works for a start.

How did you do it? I always wanted a good program but couldn't find anything good.

  • posted a message on Ever had a dream about MTG?
My dream about mtg was being the last of a family where booster boxes were stored and stored year after year, in a big home, full of booster boxes, alpha and beta not being scanned, everything excellent, but then in the dream I have the instinct to open all packs and try to get everything Frown

I was wondering, with the years Alpha, Beta, Unlimited get more expensive, but is there a set that no matter how many years pass, is still very low value, is it something like ice age? or more recent?

And how much would it cost to get a complete set of that one?

but remember that the booster box has 45 packs, as I remember, so maybe the store can buy it for 450 and sell it for 650-700

Maybe 25 k for a playset of every card Smile

Well you need to first ask you some things

    1. Do you want only one of each or a playset of every card?
    2. What will you do to the bulk that you don't need?
    and lastly but most important,
    3. Do you have the money to open several boxes?

I also like collecting and I only buy a booster box maybe two, because opening packs have always been awesome to me, but after that I fill the holes with singles.

If I had the money to be buying box after box and so on, I would definitely do it, because I love cracking packs, but the money I can spend on magic is not that much.

Also, the most economic would be to order a complete set, but for me, it takes part of the fun to collect by your own.

  • posted a message on Scariest Thing Magic Related That Happened To You...
Well it maybe isn't so magic related but here is my story, it's kind of long, but it is good Smile

last year I didn't play magic but the store is in a kind of little mall, with lots of corridors, and I went there because in the same building a store sold videogames, so I was there, and stayed a bit longer but that part of the city is peculiar because at some point in the night it gets empty.

Anyway, I finally bought a game and when I looked around, nobody was there except for some guys in the place where they sell mtg, so I was walking in a corridor, but heard some steps, and when I saw to the sides, in the left corridor there was a man like 6 foot or taller making the same route as me but in the other corridor, so I turned right to go away and exit the place for other entrance.

I did, and when leaving the place as I approached the door a man opened the door for me, and what shocked me is that the man who opened it looked exactly the same as the one that I thought was following me.

So when I finally left the place I ran to my home, because I live near my LGS, and was pretty much scared, and after that never went and stayed late. The months went by, and I started playing magic, and after some time I told the clerk the story, and he told me that before the building was used as a mall, it was a school, and for making the things short a professor died there. So I learned my lesson and never stay late there, only in FNM Smile
