2-0 vs. Esper Control. The player had tinkered with his mana base so he wasn't hitting his colors like could have.
2-0 vs. Jeskai aggro. Again the mana base messed up this player.
1-2 vs. Bant Heroic. Game 1 I got rolled. Game 2 I got all my sac effects from the sideboard and pulled it out pretty well. Game 3 I didn't draw much of my removal. Deathtouch from the sideboard was handy as well.
0-2 vs. U/W Control. I just couldn't get anything on the board due to counter magic. Game 2 looked better because I stopped casting anything after I had a cleric and a morph on the board I beat down as long as I could to force them into discarding counter magic but I wasn't able to close up the game.
I lost round 1 to Esper Dragons 0-2. I got close in game 2 with double palace siege but Ugin showed up and ended that.
I lost round 2 to U/B control 1-2. Game was fairly close, but the 2nd game Master of Waves + Shorecrasher Elemental was brought in from the side and he got me with tokens swarm game 2.
Can I suggest adding Eidolon of rhetoric to your sideboard? It almost single-handedly deals with ascendancy/combo decks. Maybe phyrexian revokerto deal with walkers?
This is what I snagged from the modern Death & Taxes Primer
What is Death & Taxes?
Death & Taxes (D&T) is a deck based loosely on the Legacy deck by the same name. The legacy version of the deck has a lot more potent control options, so it plays very differently, but the Modern version tries to emulate the "idea" of the deck. It is a white based deck (originally strictly mono-white) that plays small creatures who provide some element of control on the battlefield. The "Taxes" part of the name comes from strategies that make your opponent have to give up some resources in order to play the way they normally would. This grants us a virtual tempo advantage, and more than makes up for the size of our beaters. We also make use of alternate casting practices to maximize our potential. Keep in mind this deck is a meta deck at heart, its power stems from that, not the intrinsic power of the cards themselves.
It looks like this version of the deck uses life gain to offset coinsmith, damnable pact, ulcerate and herald of torment. It powers up the pridemate.
I would guess the lifegain swings the game back in your favor vs. mono-red as the game goes longer.
Vs. control a resolved siege is likely a win condition.
Hero's Downfall would make Ultimate Price less of a dead card vs. the Abzan decks.
I think I'm going to have to try ihatediscard's suggestions vs. control. Not having a whole lot of luck against those.
0-2 vs. Abzan aggro. Ultimate Price aren't very good against Rakshasa Deathdealers, Anafensa, the Foremost. I couldn't get the lifegain online before I got run over.

I lost 0-2 vs. B/W warriors. I got some less than stellar draws and kinda got run over.
I went 0-2 vs. mono-red aggro. It was better after sideboarding but still not enough.
I went 2-0 vs. R/B aggro. I stabilized and Palace Siege'd a win. The Sunscorch Regent with the whip + Citadel Seige was good stuff.
Wall of Essence was real good in the mono-red and R/B match. Maybe Nyxfleece Ram would be a higher budget upgrade to that card?

Something like this video shows for mono-black https://youtu.be/C4m5WiXQQkU.

I won round 4 vs a Mono-Red Dragon Tempest brew. 2-1. Rending Volley was real unpleasant against Sunscorch Regent.
I got a bye round 3.
What would you take take out?
