I've been having trouble with balancing the number of removal spells in my cube (my cube can be found here, although if you do look at it please note that it is being revised so the number of cards in each colour are way off http://tappedout.net/mtg-cube-drafts/budget-ish-cube/). It seems like it is too easy for someone to make a W/B deck with a lot of removal and a few efficient creatures, and then just kill literally everything that their opponents play.
What is a good ratio for removal spells, especially for black?
I'm trying to build a fairly cheap Modern deck (So no Tarmogoyfs or other extremely expensive cards) that is decent in multiplayer formats, such as two headed giant, free for all, and empreror. As of now, my only other modern deck, my variation of RDW, runs out of gas extremely quickly in anything that is not a two person game. I thought about it a bit, and I think that the best sort of deck would be something midrangy with solid creatures and good removal, but I would appreciate any suggestions for archetypes that describe what I want. Thank you!
While Terminate, Go for the Throat, and Doom Blade are all very good removal spells, I think that Victim of Night definitely has its place, although that varies depending on the meta game and the deck you are running. If you have a pretty solid mana base or you are only running two colors and don't have trouble getting [B][B], this is better than Doom Blade and Go for the Throat in many situations. None of the three restricted creature types are that popular in modern, with the exception of mono black zombies, which depending on your meta might not be very popular.
As for Isochron Scepter, in the right matchup this card is just insane. Against an aggro deck with no artifact removal? Throw Fog on the Scepter and you pretty much have the game at that point.

The two cards that jump out at me that I have always been big advocates for are Victim of Night and Isochron Scepter.
