I suppose I understand the desire to cast Surgical Extraction for no 2 life, however, I feel it is countered more often than not. Extirpate fixes this and I feel as I play my own deck, I often am not utilizing my mana sources every turn. Also, with the lanturn on the field, an opponent knows it is coming. I play 2 Extirpate mainboard with much success. Many opponents have not even seen the mechanic "split second" in play.
I would like to propose a switch away from Surgical Extraction toward Extirpate. Has anyone else made this switch? Tested?
After reading this thread for far too long and making my own version, what about Death Cloud? Pairing Small Pox and Death Cloud together creates a large problem for control, aggro and control. Also, I am saddened that more people are not using Noxious Revival. It becomes whatever card in your graveyard that you need next turn and also can save you against grave hate. Too good!
