Very smooth check out process for me. And this is an example of why you should let another company whose business it is to handle high load take care of it.

The guy in my group who has a few "I win" combos still makes a point of describing how each section of the loop works and the intended goal. So "ok, looping these cards generates infinite mana, then I Beast Within all your permanents, then I create infinite hasty tokens, then I swing". And if we have interaction we can go "ok, first Beast Within cast I Dissipate it". We don't generally worry about which person he's wiping the board of first.

I made a Rebecca Guay deck when they released the lands in the C16 precons.

It's mostly terrible, but there are a handful of actual synergies in it.

Chance for Glory adds an ability onto a creature until the end of the game. If that permanent stops being a creature it will still have that ability, similar to how it would keep any +1/+1 counters it had.

I'm going Gruul; it seems that it's generally strong across the board. My backup is Azorius; it's flyer suite is pretty great for sealed, though I think they won't work as well in draft against an aggro build.

They wanted to gauge how popular/widespread the game is

Well that one is easier. Magic is THE paper CCG.

Daddy like... Getting to kill one thing or dome the opponent and cast a lava coil at instant speed seems dumb.

I'm not sure this gets around cast timing. Maybe it does. I'm never sure on these types of cards.

Casting the card is part of the resolution, so it gets around the timing rules. By comparison, Narset, Enlightened Master says "until end of turn you may cast", which means that you have to obey all normal timing rules.

I think a real key component, which hasn't been mentioned, is how well either version fits in with the other cards around it.

I'll second this notion. For a Sol Ring specifically, since you can snag a Revised one for ~$10 an Alpha/Beta one's main distinction is the black border and the fact you paid money for it. That's a minor pimp increase in my opinion, as otherwise you're still using the old frame and the old art. It's not as dramatic an increase in visual flair as a regular vs. foil card is. Meanwhile, the masterpiece version stands out as "this is not a normal one". But if you're mostly in old frames, then having an old black border Sol Ring has a higher pimp factor due to the cost and the visual aesthetic of maintaining the old frame look.

Rapid Hybridization I used to know costed U, not 1GU...

Exile not destroy. So now Avacyn is a frog.

    And a Lizard.

From the article it looks like we get a creature or two with Riot twice (or away to give all your creatures Riot so they stack), which means you could put 2 counters on the creature, double haste or haste and a counter.

Could just be clarification for the kitchen tablers using cards like panharmonicon. Getting a different choice twice probably isn't intuitive so it's worth pointing out that you can give it a counter and haste if you trigger riot twice.

It's not a triggered ability, it's just a choice you make as it enters like you do with clone effects. The way it was phrased it sounded more like there might be a card that gives all your creatures or maybe the next creature you cast Riot.

Sower of Discord was spoiled. 6 mana for a 6/6 flying with an ability that is actually useful in 1 vs. 1 or multiplayer. This card could have a place in a standard Kaalia build.

Is it? Because in 1v1 this reads "when you deal damage to a player, deal that much to yourself as well." It turns us into a Flesh Reaver. It's a pretty good great multiplayer card though since you can choose two opponents and then attack a third. I'd expect it to not live very long of course, but it can do some incredible amounts of damage at least.

In 1 vs. 1, even if the targets are yourself and the opponent, it guarantees that if they hit you, they take equal damage. Yes, there are other "Eye for an Eye" style cards, but this one is a relevant creature type with a reasonable body. I concede the ability isn't as robust as it would be in multiplayer, since you wouldn't choose yourself most likely in multiplayer.

You're missing the issue. It's a bidirectional Eye for an Eye. So if I hit them for 10 damage, I lose 10 life. If they hit me for 10 damage, they lose 10 life. Given Kaalia tends to play lots of life loss cards to be aggressive it means that you're really playing with fire. It doesn't lock you out of winning without a life gain source (since if you swing lethal your opponent will lose as a state based effect before the trigger can resolve) but it is super dangerous.

I definitely want to make Xantcha because she's the first Rakdos commander that looked like it could be an interesting deck to me. And I want to do Bantchantress, but I still haven't decided which of the three new options I want to helm the deck. I'm currently leaning towards Estrid for shenanigans with untapping enchanted lands.
