Curdbros, with this new change to Planeswalkers, Mono Green walkers might have some interesting possibilities, hell, even a nykthos fuelled call the gatewatch might be possible.

TL;DR version is Planeswalkers are changing to Legendary, meaning you can't have two Nissa, Steward of the Elements in play at once, but you could absolutely have 4 different Nissa Planeswalkers in play...

I've had my eye on taking turns for a while, and then I played against a quadruple sleeved work of art in one of the GP Trial grinders in Vancouver and had my t1 Thoughtsieze commandeered, and I fell in love...
I'm a few dictates and Time Warp's away from getting the deck together and then I can't wait to take it out for a spin Smile

Also, the pilot was super nice, super competent with the deck, and played at an incredibly good pace, he did you all proud Smile

You know Sebastepistis, this attitude is just as toxic to the game as the attitude that if you aren't trying to play to win then you are a scrub.

Both extremes of the viewpoint here are bad.

The best advice in this thread so far has been to attempt play at or near parity in decks. If either party / groups is not having fun here, then they should change it up and play within circles that won't involve them beating their head against a brick wall. (because that can happen from both ends)

It's extremely challenging or Dominant-trait Spikes and play Dominant non-Spikes and everyone has a good time.

When two parties want two very different things from the game it can be very difficult for everyone playing to have a good time.
This is just generally true of gaming in general, be it table-top wargaming, board gaming, video gaming, or Magic.

Gaming at it's heart is a social contract between two or more parties that you are all there to enjoy your time there. When that ceases to be the case. Review why you are all doing it, and either adjust, or stop (and find another group)

    just my two cents.

only being able to generate coloured mana if it's for a devoid card is a very large drawback. This card is streets better.

I really enjoyed seeing Yahenni and their party, and their place as a socialite.

This new story today puts a lot more focus on Yahenni and their actions. I agree we should be in line for a legendary, and I also agree with LouCypher that the stories are definitely better when the focus is not the gatewatch.

Looking forward to how this all plays out, and seeing the aetherborn as more of a focal point in the story.

I played 2HG with my buddy, our pool was pretty good.

he had two of the fabricate angels, a fumigate, and I pulled Eliminate the competition and the demon (in foil)

so he went black white board wipe Smile

I had an acceptable green red energy deck with peema outriders, grubs, dynavolt tower and multiform wonder, as well as combustible gear hulk. We came in third and had a blast.

Favourite play of the day was eliminating the competition with servo's to swing in and destroy a prebuilt Chandra.

There were some crazy planes walker pulls (one young man pulled a saheeli and chandra, and then got saheeli in his prize pack)

I think the only invention pulled at our store throughout the entire day was a pair of lightning greaves

I thought today's story was absolutely excellent. A wonderful way to explore some key aspects of a new race, providing information to the reader in a very enjoyable way. It was also refreshing to get a view of Planeswalkers from someone else's perspective that was in itself, enlightening for the reader.

Like others I would really hope that we hear more of Yahenni's story within the wider context of the overarching story arc.
