I recently had an argument with my freind NightyNightSpecter about standard format. To me, it seems like Standard is just a way for Wizards to force players to keep buying new cards to keep up with what's legal. It also really stifles creativity, usually less than 1,000 cards are legal at one time. This forces decks sharing a theme to be essentially the same; if there have been only three good mill creatures in the past three blocks, then all mill decks will probably be based around the same three creatures.
Any insight? I know this is a pretty unpopular opinion.
Just got an account here and I'd like some input on my U/W spirit/tapping deck. I've had it for a while and won some games with it, and I think it fits legacy format (I really don't know much about deck formats, but most of my decks use old cards so I'm going to call them Legacy).
So here it is:
11 Islands
12 Plains
1 Azorius Guildgate
