Dig is significantly better in a deck with 25+ lands that wants to find specific cards. Often I hold up Dig to respond to a game changing spell if I'm not behind on board, which you can never do with Cruise.
Rewind isn't great in a metagame of Remands.

Dec 7, 2014cbgirardo posted a message on The Cranial Archive - Control in Today's Modern MetagameCountersquall is great, I was a bit worried about the mana cost. I think this only applies to the Grixis list, as the Esper one has no incentive to make the opponent lose two life.Posted in: cbgirardo
I agree on Terminate as pro red seems to be a trend lately. I might want at least one Smother, Dismember, or Slaughter Pact. -
Dec 1, 2014cbgirardo posted a message on The Cranial Archive - Control in Today's Modern MetagameThat depends so much on their list. If I see Ensoul Artifact and Cranial Plating, I'm probably not cutting Negate. Cryptics can come out to a degree. Affinity is a great matchup for both of these decks. Generally you want to cut expensive cards (Digs, Revelations) and bring in cheap, efficient answers (Stony Silence, Pyroclasm).Posted in: cbgirardo

R2 2-0 Monoblack Control http://www.twitch.tv/nezeru/c/5117734
R3 2-1 Affinity http://www.twitch.tv/nezeru/c/5117739
R4 2-0 Jund http://www.twitch.tv/nezeru/c/5117745
3-1 again
R1 http://www.twitch.tv/nezeru/c/5054580 2-1 Affinity
R2 http://www.twitch.tv/nezeru/c/5054591 2-0 Jund
R3 http://www.twitch.tv/nezeru/c/5054598 2-0 RG Shamans
R4 http://www.twitch.tv/nezeru/c/5117745 1-2 RUG Delver where I forgot about Blood Moon
These are pre-Dig Through Time, but they should give you the basics.
Interestingly enough, Cruel Ultimatum doesn't work on Magic Online at all unless you have a guy in your yard to return. It bugs out the game and either restarts the game or kills your opponent, and after restarting, some of your lands will exile themselves when you play them (specifically shocklands). -
Nov 5, 2014cbgirardo posted a message on The Cranial Archive - Dealing with the Modern Delver 'Menace'Honestly it's been a while since I tested Spellskite in this shell. I suspect it's not very good against Burn as a large percentage of their spells target a player, and online I've been playing Witchbane Orb as well. Against Delver, Spellskite seems quite iffy as it draws Vapor Snags and doesn't block Swiftspears very well. Against Burn, it's also a poor blocker and enables Searing Blaze/Blood if it does block. I'll have to test it to know for sure though, and it is relatively good against Affinity too.Posted in: cbgirardo

(possibly 3/3 on Evolution and Chord but Chord feels much worse in testing)
This has felt like a huge improvement over the pre-Eldritch Moon deck. Selfless Spirit is obviously leagues better than Burrenton Forge-tender, Eldritch Evolution is faster than Chord and they're generally good in the same situation.
Voice is especially bad because even against UWR, Nahiri just exiles it
Kalitas is an issue, but we have removal and Archangel should really be in every Company deck.
Nahiri Jeskai is not a good matchup by any means. I suppose it depends on their list, but I think everyone maindecks Anger of the Gods, which is a huge problem.
The MTGSalvation ban discussion policy is really bad in my opinion (I hope this doesn't count as discussing bans?)
Nahiri is busted so I'll be running every flavor of Nahiri deck as my main Modern deck for a while, but I do test a lot with Company and it's definitely a very strong deck.
Rec sage got cut for pontiff, played redcap in that board slot. Went 3-1 tonight in a tournament, beat scapeshift, UWR Nahiri, and temur traverse, lost to company's double nut draw with two t3 infinite life hands.
EDIT 5/31/16
I have been playing this deck quite a bit recently. I won a box in a Modern side event at GP Minneapolis, beating Burn, Merfolk, Elves, and splitting with Tron (though the matchup is quite good so I would not have minded playing it out). In other events, I beat Tron twice, Company, Affinity, and Burn in one Modern event. My only loss in tournament play so far was to Company's nut draws.

There are so many ideas to test that it'll be a while before I settle on a Leap list I'm happy with. This weekend, I might go to the Modern Open in Milwaukee, so if I have a list by then I'll try it out.
